I wasn't thinking of it as all of them doing a collaborative effort on a single project (at least not the ones that are in progress) as much as them just being a modeling club, but either interpretation works.
That being said, if it was a single project it would be absolutely massive in scale, probably the size of a large dining table or a whole room if the "mass production units" that Rei is painting are Evas instead of tanks
...alternatively, could be something with forced perspective. Damn, I kinda want to write a sequel now that goes into them building a diorama together

I'm just reminded of how O'Brien and Dr. Bashir would always build those model battlefields in Star Trek DS1

I haven't seen any significant amount of the Star Trek shows, so I can't claim inspiration there; but I always like it when scifi shows acknowledge model kit nerds in-universe

This has laid dormant for quite a while; writing oneshots is fun, is there any general interest in reviving this as a semi-regular thing to flex some writing muscles?
