No, no. Sadly, the guardian is Fuyutsuki. She's still a teenager.
Shinji is in the first year of junior high school, while Rei is in the first year of high school.

Having Rei taller than Shinji makes for an interesting dynamic, for sure. Looks like Rei is pretty close to approaching Yui's height (5'6").

On an entirely different topic, we're close to 100 pages and a reboot, so here are a few suggestions for the reboot's name -

1. Kaworu-no-kimi's classical, perfumed and princely sentō (a Japanese bathhouse for those of you not in the know)

2. Fuyutsuki-sensei's funhouse of foppery and whimsy

3. Old sensei's outrageously out-of-control classroom

4. Mari's Middlesex Manor of Mayhem

I like option 2, people don't use the word 'foppery' enough.

(Also, if you end up going for option one, 'ofuro' is typically understood to be a private bath in one's residence. Public bathhouses are more commonly referred to as sentō. Either meaning would be humorous!)
