Re: 3.0 - Fushigi no Umi no Nadia: Connections & Implication
From the Nadia screenshot you've provided, I'm not seeing anything that links them with Mark.09. Scythes tend to look like each other (unless we're talking really specific design details) and the Grim Reaper visual trope is an easy one to milk.

Given that there seem to be so many similarities, do you think we should update the wiki page about references to other anime in Evangelion to include this stuff?
Life can seem a challenge. Life can seem impossible. It's never easy when so much is on the line.

Whoever is game for doing it can go right ahead. If you need a wiki account, just PM me or something.

Here's a closer look at the scythes used by the Neo-Atlantian guards:
The Vessel's scythe has a partially black blade, but aside from that, they don't seem all that similar to me. The 3.0 scythe's blade hooks very sharply and the handle has a weird crook in the neck.
SPOILER: Show

Someday I hope that we'll be reunited if that is what's destined to be. Perhaps we'll discover that elusive bible. And then we will finally be free!

Now that theres a closer look at the scythe I agree that there is not really much of a connection.
SPOILER: Show
However I would say this is a definite visual connection from episode 37 of Nadia.

Also in Episode 38 I thought the sacrifice of the Gratan/Katherine by self-destructing to save the New Nautilus was very similar to the sacrifice of Unit 2 to save the Wunder in 3.33.

Watched Nadia for the first time a few days ago. What an amazing series, if it wasn't for the horrible Island arc.
Not a direct connection, but I liked the striking audible resemblance between Eva's Entry Plug and Nadia's Particle Annihilation Engine:

Electreel wrote:The launch scenes are similar as well: both of them remain still as their enemies surround them, waiting for their main engine to start. They finally launch upwards with an enormous blast and destroy the enemy using their turrets.
Wunder's lower bridge also looks like the original Nautilus' one:SPOILER: Show
Anyone else noticed that the Wunder's bridge is an upside down version of the Bridge from the Nauitlus.
It even has Nemo's captain elevator, it just goes up instead of down.
EvaGeeks is a nightmare to navigate, still good tho.

Re: 3.0 - Fushigi no Umi no Nadia: Connections & Implication
Reading about how NGE was originally planned to be a sequel to Nadia [supposedly, though I doubt this series is well known enough to English speakers to edit it's wikipedia page just to fuck with us: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nadia:_Th ... Production ] I noticed the Mark.04B attached to Unit 01's orbital cage during the opening of 3.0 is using a Babel type weapon. That's why Asuka refers to it as a light, why her AT Field does jack shit to it, and why a remix of Hikari no Babel plays.
Also, more of a general connection to EVA as a whole, Basileus [Emperor Neo] is the first time a cyborg in an Anno project goes Berserker, when he saves Nadia from the mind control device [which Jean could have easily shot ] Even down to him narrowing his eyes like Unit 01. It keeps going deeper
Though I'm really glad nobody in NTE turned out to be a pedophile like Sanson did during Nadia's epilogue. Unless... wait how old is Mari in comparison to Shinji agai-
