Extraterrestrial Boys & Girls is still alive and that's awesome and this is why:

YES, I already feared the project died a silent death like Despera, but it's alive and kicking!! I simply ADORE Dennou Coil, a wonderfully realized Sci-Fi clash between Serial Experiments Lain and a Ghibli feature. While it slightly stumbles in the second half, it is nevertheless one of my favorite shows by far, and remains sadly very overlooked to this day. The sheer idea of having AR blew my mind in 2008. I was like "this is possible?!?!"... and now we're nearing the year of 2027 and we might really see a world similar depicted to in Dennou Coil. The sheer animation prowess in this show is immense and the level of competence in execution throughout is rarely seen in Anime, but, while undoubtedly very well done, I was never *that* fond of the character design. So I'm simply overjoyed to see none other than Kenichi Yoshida of Eureka Seven fame helming this show's character design *OMGEMOJI* He's one of my favorite designers around.

Now, are my expectations irresponsibly high and will likely be heavily disappointed? Sure! But that's still far off in the future :)

(In the meantime, everybody, go watch Dennou Coil)

Personally, I am glad that Tomino still has the willpower and resilience to work on these new projects. I look forward to hearing more about them in due time:

Apparently Gunbuster inspired one of the folks who worked on Hayabusa2

Pretty cool I think! Anno always changing people's lives :gendo_yay:
I used to work in a factory and I was really happy because I could daydream all day -- I.C.
And thanks to EVA, I've started like myself and that has made me very happy. Mr. Anno, please keep working on EVA a lot more.
and thank you so much for everything!!

Now this is some great news. Konaka also tweeted this:

As a huge Serial Experiments Lain and Texhnolyze fanboy, this makes me a bit happy. I wish Despera truly does become a great anime.

Probably the best thread for this

Just as things started to happen by way of previews for RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM, Ikuhara posted this thread

auto translate wrote:[Notice] The name will be changed suddenly. I thought about it, but decided to live honestly with myself. The new name will be announced around midnight tonight.

I'm sure I'll lose a lot of things with this announcement, but I'm prepared. It would be a nuisance to everyone involved in the work being produced, and although I struggled there, I chose to live truly.

Does this mean that the Pokemon anime as a whole is finally coming to an end? Not to offend those who are pure fans but I kind of hope so since I haven't been even a casual since the Johto Journeys:

I don’t watching the anime, but I’m pretty sure that “climax” it’s about the current “Pokémon Journeys” series, not the end of the anime as a whole. Though I remember heard about some rumors of potencial end of the TV series soon, because The Pokémon Company is investing in webseries now, such as “Pokémon Generations” (2016), “Pokémon: Twilight Wings” (2020) and “Pokémon Evolutions” (2021), all them are available for free to watching on the franchise’s official YouTube channel or on the Pokémon official website (TV Pokémon).

So did you watch it?

Other than Mina punning on her own name and being the only anime I've seen yet to make a SpaceX reference, it didn't blow my mind none.

It's like a cross between Freedom 7 and Zenon, with just a dash of Planetes.

Today is a historic day, I think. Ash Ketchum's journey will come to an end:

Riko & Roy, the new protagonists:

To me, all this is more surprising than him becoming world champion.
