Eva Plot Holes

Everytime I watch Eva I seem to find another plot hole and it got me thinking, just how many plot holes are there in the series? So lets start a list. I will start with the best and most infamous one- the empty plugsuit in the plug while Shinji is inside the Eva (I still can't figure out how Anno/Gainax missed that one). What are some other ones that you guys/gals have noticed.

God damnit Hunter, that isn't a plot hole! Ritsuko explains it, and that is more than enough for me.

Now, now, Dave...don't be so hasty to judge...

Hunter21, are you refering to the scenes in episode 21 when Shinji is absorbed by Unit-01?

If so, that's not a plot hole. Shinji's physical form was...well, liquified into the LCL, leaving his plugsuit adrift in the goo.

If not... which scene was that? I wanna see!

I wanna see! I wanna know! I wanna find out!

Episode 20 has no plot holes, it has a plot MISTAKE !!!!
Shinji was in civilian clothes in episode 19, but when he was absorbed by the eva, the clothing was changed by the plug suit. It's a mistake, accept it.

THey put the line of Ritsuko just to fix the mistake. And also that line gave a cool answer to explain where the hell Asuka get those bandages in EoE.

Plot holes is just a nice way of saying that the writters/animators made a mistake. So plot hole=plot mistake. And if you didn't think I accepted that Eva had a fair share of holes/mistakes do you think I would have started this post? Now get to pointing some more out that I don't know about yet so I can laugh at them when I see them.

Eh....that's kind of a grey area.

We're talkin' 'bout plot holes here, not continuity errors.

Alright, how 'bout this:

I know, I know, It's already been used, but I feel that it's plot holey sufficient.

Exactly; it's what Bob Ross used to call a, "happy accident."

Ritsuko: All of the materials which formed Shinji-kun are still in the
plug. What could be called his soul exits there, too. In fact, his ego
image gives pseudosubstance to his plugsuit.

I wouldn't call the episode #20 business a "plot hole" so much as a "stupid mistake". Nothing in the plot really rides on the error, after all.

As far as other plot holes are concerned... Dunno. Some things that might scream "plot hole!" at first glance can actually be worked around, if you're creative enough.

the way they covered it up with ritsuko was quite admirable...they made it actually sound plausible...
and supposedly his ego boundaries were forming his self image
as for Asuka i think it was that she thought that she was injured (self image) and there was damage to her nerve endings...in the world post 3I she had bandages...

I think it's obvious that she didn't have any actual injuries, though. If her arm were really still split in half, I don't think any number of bandages would be able to save it. And she certainly wouldn't have been able to caress Shinji with it.

And the "pseudosubstance" bit is just cover-up gobbledygook. That's all.

But I could have sworn I saw her arm split in two. And her eye pierced. You never know  since she just emerged out of liquid, she could have imagined herself all fixed up with the surgery done and paid for. She could have been just two weeks till she could take them off.
(Obviously, she kept them on to get some sympathy out of Shinji - which failed miserably.)

The pseudosubstance theory can yell "up yours: what Anno says goes."
