I had known that Evangelion and Gurren Lagann can be therapeutic but I had no idea that it was supposed to spur to "action". I will admit that it may not an accurate but are these shows supposed to spur you into "action"?

I'm not about to watch an hour long video essay on a show I found as boring as TTGL, so I won't be able to respond in detail, but in general the rule of thumb is that if an anituber is the primary source for a claim, that claim is probably bullshit.

I remember how Evangelion made me angry at some point, mainly because of how Shinji is treated so poorly by others.

I am more likely to be angry at that than what the video mentioned. Shinji is a kind, brave boy who gets mistreated by others.
