Am I wrong or does it seem like Khara has been making big announcements every 10 days. We're 60 days from release if things stick. So probably should expect the next big announcement in ten days. Once they past 50 I figure they'll announce things a lot more regularly.

Yeah, they've been doing this 10 days cycle thing ever since the third trailer dropped. The infos usually range from announcements (Shin's theater number, JoHaQ re-release) to fun tidbits (Mari and Asuka's new plugsuits details or the production trivia that was actually a stealth runtime hint ), so basically we get a guaranteed update every 10 days which is super satisfying, considering the long wait between Q and Shin.

Instead of being paranoid let's just enjoy this photo of Anno looking ultra cute with his cat!

That's an old photo as the cat died in 2018 and Anno has still some black hairs.

Oh I knew that, I was wondering if they actually got a new identical cat, didn't notice the black hair since I thought it was the lighting.

My god, it'd be bittersweet if Tatsuya Kushida's Cat on the Railway calendar art turns out to be a scene in Shin. Immortalizing his love for Jack through Eva.

P.S.: I know the cat has a different color and the art predates Jack's death, but both are mighty good cats.

We'll get info about the booklet they'll probably sell at cinemas, release date of the soundtrack (and maybe an Outtakes of Evangelion volume 2?), runtime of the film, some settei other than Asuka and Mari, info about that supposed new version of 3.33, etc.

Well Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone's theartical re-release on December 4th is exactly 50 days before January 23rd.

So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we get at least a new poster 10 days from now. I wonder if they'll attach a new trailer onto the 1.0 re-release OR just run the 3rd trailer that's playing in theaters now on the first two films and wait until the You Can (Not) Redo re-release on December 18th to do anything major like a full length trailer with a new track from the film. Completely updating the post credits teaser on You Can (Not) Redo to be a new Thrice Upon A Time trailer would be a good move IMO.

As a bonus, Khara seems appreciative and understanding that despite the Demon Slayer grosses there are still people who aren't going to theaters and fans outside Japan just can't so I don't think they'll fight to keep any new trailers as "theater exclusive". That newest trailer was released on Khara's website a few hours after it played in theaters.

**As an aside, I hope GKids gets the rights to Rebuild because if they do I could see them going the distance and pulling this theatrical run - minus the 4DX releases - of all Four Rebuilds in the US. Any kind of US theatrical release wouldn't be most likely until the second half of 2021 and by that point Covid-19 vaccines should be having a good effect with the proper distribution in place. I've been closing following what the scientific community and has been saying and there is now a light at the end of this tunnel. If that light could end with my first theatrical experience in a year being the Four Rebuilds then all the better!

That and I'm curious whether they'll screen the mythical "updated" version with new plugsuits seen in the recap video or the version on EVA-EXTRA app (identical to base 3.33, but the missing DSS choker error was fixed).

Huh, I'm way too attached with the current poster that I legit hope this is the "final" one, plus Shin already has three posters anyway (the teaser one from 2017, coreified Eiffel, and railway) and having another kinda sounds like an overkill.

^ I doubt any company would be willing to shell out money for licensing and theater rentals for content that's at least 8 years old, even if it's some sort of bundled deal with the last movie. Eva is still a niche property outside Japan. I'd say it's more comparable to One Piece in that it's hugely popular in its home country but struggles to gain traction in the west, plus the large gap between the previous movie and the final installment hasn't helped things. Personally I'd love a DBS:Broly type rollout but in reality it's not likely to happen.

I'm much more interested in the Bluray and its western release than a theatrical run. Hopefully thing will go more smoothly this time regardless of who gets the license.

With the website having a (limited) English support and AVANT1 being also screened in major countries, the pre-Covid marketing for Shin Eva seemed to hint that they were gearing for a near-simultaneous Japanese and international release, there had to be some major deals being made just for Operation 0706 alone.

Highly doubt Funi would've been involved in a hypothetical early English Shin release after the infamous 3.33 dub drama tho. Between GKids getting NGE and Funi's 1.11 Bluray being out of stock for quite a while, I'd say the hope isn't really unreasonable.

Oh, on a kinda related note, Funi is re-releasing Shin Godzilla's bluray with a worse packaging for some reason.
