Oh, sorry I haven't. It's just that I cannot get over my experience with Dark Souls II, although I do enjoy the improvements over the first game and some of the bosses.

I do not like the upcoming Demon's Souls Remake at all.
The game is too colorful and it lacks bloom effect that gave the impression that Boletaria was being consumed by the fog.
Architecture has been changed from early medieval norman architecture to later medieval Gothic architecture for some reason, probably because Dark Souls and Bloodborne had Gothic buildings.

Some screenshots of the new remake had Boletaria being taken over by grass and roots, implying that it has been decades or century since the scourge began before the events of the game. The problem with this change is that the fall of Boletaria happened fairly recently in the original based on NPC dialogue and item descriptions. To me, it seems like Bluepoint games is just adding detail just for the sake of it to show off of the power of PS5 instead of considering how such a change would affect worldbuilding.
Flamelurker looks like a boss from some generic MMO now.
Tower knight arena is completely butchered and changed from practical battle fortress (The original version even had arrowslits to sell the idea of a fortress) to a ornate cathedral. This change from practical fortress to a ornate cathedral seems to be a trend in all of Boletaria.
Fluted armor set is also changed and it looks like something out of Dark Souls 3.
Also, the remixed soundtrack of the opening cinematic lacks all the impact of the original.

Unfortunately I agree with you in pretty much everything you said.
The change in architecture is the most nonsensical to me. I've seen people in the net arguing that this is somehow the "true vision" they wanted back then, like Gothic arches and vegetation were some impossible thing to do back in the PS3.
It really is drastically changing the mood.

I do have some hope for a possible re balance of the world tendency system. I've always liked the idea, but the implementation left much to be desired (no wonder they cut it entirely in the next games). They've made minor changes in the SoC remake, so they could do some nice tweaks on a few things (removing the weight limit would be max priority for me).

This said, even if they do the right things in the gameplay aspect, the souls series has always lived and died by it's atmosphere and visual direction. That's what really made me like Demons Souls. If they screw up that, I have little hope for this game.

I dread to think what they have done with the areas we haven't seen yet.

Look at Dark Souls 1 for example, it has more vegetation and ornate gothic architectural design and yet it was on PS3, just like Demon's souls was. Technical limitations were not the reason for Demon's souls architecture.
Demon's souls even had seperate levels, which gives the developers more freedom to design stuff (And better performance) since you don't have to worry how certain levels affect others whereas Dark Souls 1 loads it's levels on the fly without any loading screens (for the most part), which is technically more demanding and can limit design.
Speaking of vegetation, imagine if Ashina castle from Sekiro had roots growing everywhere despite the fact that it has not been abandoned and that the fall of Ashina only happens at the end of the game. Lore/story and level design would clash/contradict each other a lot and would make the world feel worse and less cohesive, right? If that kind of change is not okay for Sekiro, then why is it okay for DeS remake?

I've yet to play Sekiro, but I'm almost certain this nonsense we are about to see is mostly due to having a different developer do the remake. Had Fromsoft done this, I doubt the changes would be this drastic, but they are wisely focusing on developing new games, instead of messing up old ones.

It is still a shame though, I do think there are things that could have been improved, but if they are going to mess up this hard, I'd rather they had just done a straight port to other consoles.

Yeah, I would have preferred this too.
I do try to enjoy the game (If I end up buying it at some point that is) as it's own unique experience alongside the original and don't view it as something that is trying to replace or improve upon the original verision, just like Resident evil 2 and 3 Remakes.

Demon's Souls Remake gameplay trailer came out and it's overall worse than I expected. I only liked how short the loading screens were, critical animations and how the tutorial teaches the player about vaulting whereas in the original you could only figure it out by reading online messages or just running into specific railings or edges and figuring it out by accident.
It still has the same problems as the first trailer; tons of vegetatation when the kingdom was just overrun by the demons, all areas have inferior atmosphere, altered architecture etc. but there are some new issues.
Sound design is lacking, tons of unnecessary grunts and panting, Demon's Souls is supposed to be dark, bleak and quiet(ter) experience.
The camera is closer to your character and the position is little bit to the left instead of middle, which is worse since it is now needlessly harder to see your enemies and the enviroment around you.
Somehow the R1 and roll + R1 attack animations are worse than the original game which was made in 2009 with far smaller budget, they lack impact and feel stiff. Speaking of lacking impact, when you block or attack there is very little or no stagger on your character or the enemy.
I have no idea why they changed the archstone to some magma stone, but now it is not consistent with the ones found in the Nexus.
"YOU DIED" has bland text.
Gargoyles are made of stone instead of being stiched together demons by the old monk, which is a significant change. Now they're just gargoyles that came to life, just like Dark Souls.

Watching From Software's Rise and Fall in Gamer Appreciation in real time is fascinating.

The thing is, it's not From software that is making this remake. It's hard to blame them for this. Last I checked the games they made are still well regarded (and right now I'm really enjoying my time with Sekiro, it's refreshingly different gameplay wise from previous soul games) and unless Elden Ring is a massive blunder I don't see them falling out of their high place in regards to how fans and critics see them.

I should also note that this remake is most likely going to sell very well, it's just that as someone that played te original the atmosphere changes are very obvious and a big deal. I doubt the game is going to be straight up bad, it's not like Bluepoint games can change it that much anyway. Well, I hope they can't change it that much.

Sony paid Bluepoint games to remake Demon's Souls. FromSoftware had nothing to do with this. They're currently developing Elden ring, which I'm looking forward to.
Speaking of Demon's Souls remake, I've watched some launch date gameplay from streamers and I'm still firmly in the camp of people who will not buy the remake.
The character, world and other designs are still vastly inferior to the original, Soundtrack is generic and even some of the good ones sounds too similar to other Souls games instead of Demon's Souls.
Item burden is ruined/made irrelevant as a mechanic now that you can send items directly to your "bank" in the Nexus when your inventory is full. The thing most people disliked about item burden was that when your inventory was full and you picked up an item from a corpse, it dropped to the ground and you either had to leave it to the ground for it to despawn from your current playthrough or you had to drop other items in order to decrease your burden limit.
There was a fix for this that didn't require Bluepoint to change the mechanic like this: When you try to pick up an item from a corpse while your inventory is full the item you tried to pick up stays on the corpse for a later pick up when you hopefully have more space in your inventory.

Yep and it had a great update few weeks ago where you can now rematch bosses, do boss rush gauntlets, leave messages for other players and change your skins.
