Hello, everyone.
I only just got into Evangelion (and the entire genre of anime) this year so I'm something of a newbie to this and to forums in general. I'm looking forward to talking all things Eva.
Thank you for having me.

Was Eva your first anime? That'd be one hell of an initiation. (Mine was Akira, so I kinda know what that can feel like.)

You wanna talk rare anime initiations? Mine was Lensman the movie when I was a little squirt wayyyyy before the Pokemon craze!

Was Eva your first anime?

Essentially, yes. I'd seen some Ghibli films before then and might once have seen a couple of episodes of Pokemon but that was about it. I sort of knew what I was getting myself into since I'd read that it got pretty dark but just reading about it wasn't really preparation for quite how dark it gets.

I just came to give my goodbyes. I'm done with EvaGeeks (but not with Evangelion) and probably message boards in general. I've had fun the (almost) 8 years I was on here but it's time to move on. Take care of yourselves, everyone.

Peculiar time to depart, considering we're gearing up for the last hooray with Shin Eva... Either way, take care!

Hello!
After reading trough this forum for quite a time now (I probably read first discussions about EVA here around six years ago, so yeah), I've finally decided to create an account here as well. I have been a huge fan of EVA ever since I saw the first Rebuild Movie back in 2012 when it aired on TV. After I got into EVA through the Rebuild-Movies I watched and read literally everything EVA-related. Now, after the lately released teaser for Evangelion 3.0+1.0 I'm in an absolute hype again and hope to have some interesting discussions here and finally connect with some fellow EVA-fans. Some personal stuff about me: I'm currently 19 years old, live in Germany und just started at University. Besides Evangelion I really like videogames, manga, anime, books and drawing.

I'm not very good with introducing myself so I just hope we have a great time! ^_^

Bye-bye Reichu, but I'm not sure Evageeks will be able to cope without you. Hoping to read your future posts somehow.

Yes, I started reading in this forum just after I had free access to the internet! And yeah, it has been quite a time since EVA 3.0 came out! Damn, I watched it the first time when the DVD/BD launched in Germany (which was at the end of 2013) and couldn't wait for the final ... Seven years later and while I now already finished school, EVA 3.0+1.0 is still not out. But well, at least it seems 2021 will finally be the year we waited for in relation to Evangelion.

For that matter, I was around your age when I first got interested in Evangelion, a little before the release of the first Evangelion movie. I didn't think I'd be on this board waiting for the Final movie in 2020! -o-; And since I don't actually feel "old", it just seems bizarre to think that so much time has passed!

Welcome Nao, glad you've decided to register! Recently there's been a big influx of German-speaking fans too! I'm sure the airing of NTE on Super RTL plays a big role in Evangelion's bigger appreciation in German speaking areas, as the show proper never got a real run on TV. Crazy to think how much time has passed, huh?

Welcome to the forum!
I was 16 myself when 3.0 came out. I think the younger you were when that last film released, the longer the already long wait must have seemed.

Yeah, I'm also glad Super RTL runned NTE on TV! I probably would've been getting into Evangelion sooner or later anyway as I like anime in general, but thanks to Super RTL I got into EVA very early on. Sadly none of my friends know EVA although I'm currently working on getting my best friend into the franchise as I just watched my BD of 1.11 with her.

I think that's true. I also noticed that time does seem to run faster once you're older. I mean I thought the final NTE-Movie would come out around 2015 (so 2016 for a western release) when I first watched 3.33 and that seemed very far away back then.

Wow the first movie came out in 2007 so that's really a lot of time. I would've never thought that I would still be waiting for the final movie in 2020 either but well, that's just how it is now.

Welcome to the forums, Nao!

Didn't know that SRTL runs Eva now, that's cool; back when I still watched TV, all they had on was their Ghibli-and-Appleseed thing they ran like twice a year

It's been quite some time when I last checked (about ~8 years) but they ran the Evangelion movies quite often on their Friday Evening Slot which mostly was reserved for Ghibli Movies. But it makes sense, since the German distributor (UFA-Anime turnt LEONINE Distribution) for NTE is the same who handles almost all of the Ghiblis.
