Totally lost hope. Better not speculate on something that isn't even releated to NTE.

This one might actually be the announcement date for real, but with the pandemic still going on, expect nothing and hope for a pleasant surprise.

Honestly, at this point, I've given up hope for any new announcement related to Shin Eva happening this year.

Unrelated maybe, but seems like Nadia will have something to share regarding its anniversary next week.

Coincidental timing with the tweet being posted soon after the Eva one. Didn't even know they made an official account for it, Khara follows it though.

But what would even be announced at this point?
What is different now from april, when the movie was delayed?
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."

No.

I'd be happy to have more animated Evangelion, but no live action. Frak that excrement.

Anno has said he would quality control future Eva stuff.

Problem is, as Anno once said, "in Eva i've put my very soul". Evangelion, even if It's a work of a studio, IS Anno. Without him, in my view, Evangelion is not itself.

For this reason, for me, Eva dies after TUAT came out.

Frankly, I don't think there should be any more Evangelion, whether animated or live action. Every story needs an end, and a good one too. Your use of frak reminds me of the 2000s Battlestar Galactica, which set a standard for horrible endings before Game of Thrones took that crown.

Didn't Anno say that he wanted Evangelion to be one of the pillars of Anime, though? Like Mobile Suit Gundam? That sounds to me like at least a few spinoffs are in the cards.

More Eva would be different stories, just like Rebuild is its own thing. You gotta use concepts with potential like Eva.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"

Anno started NTE in 2006 with the idea of making Evangelion a standard like Gundam. He stated this thing in CRC 1.0 that Joseki pasted here from Eva Extra. In 2016 Anno reiterated this intention, so this is the primary reason behind the creation of NTE, before the imaginative scenario and before the message.
I agree that Eva without Anno is another thing, and honestly I too prefer that the story has a concrete end (bye bye all Evangelion), but if Anno has this desire to open Eva to other creators, I can't help it, except to freely choose whether or not to see these "spin offs".

Regarding Eva, is there anything else you have to say about what’s to come?

H. Anno: We are making concrete progress on Shin Evangelion. I’m sorry for making fans wait so long. I hope to have the time to get it done now. Once it’s over, I hope other creators will do other Eva. Obviously, because I want them to be appealing works, it won’t be without specific conditions, but I will not confine them to what my works have established. Just like Gundam, which keeps continuously supporting the animation world, Eva can become a new pillar. After all, it is the purpose that led me to resume through the New Theatrical Versions. I want to maintain this pillar, which carries the animation world. The more pillars there are, the better for the environment will be, won’t it? That’s how I see it. Rather than for my company, I do this for the wellbeing of the animation industry. Gundam can be enjoyed through various works, and it would be nice if Eva can develop in the same way. I think it’s better if there is a diversity in the works.

A seinen/josei slice of life version of Evangelion would be a serious success in my opinion. It's never going to happen, but it would be cool.
