What do you expect, a Hollywood style trailer that successively tells us the story of the whole movie?
While I personally wouldn't mind, as I don't watch movies for stories primarily, I'm sure a lot of people would disagree.
Also the highly metatextual story-telling ripe with hints and allusions wouldn't do well I a "IN A WORLD" format, imo.
Important: As I have stated, I'm OK with waiting, and would disagree with FriskyIan. But I guess what he means is a "trailer" as opposed to a "teaser". It still feels as though the film is only a concept, or super far away in time, because we've seen so little, and we've seen more it was the first scene of the film.
A trailer isn't absolutely needed, but I would also like to see one as preparation for the film. I have explained before though in this thread why that trailer is not possible right now. It will come.
What we have gotten is the equivalent of:https://youtu.be/_0s4wouFl6E
What we will likely still get would be sonething like this:https://youtu.be/qyfxQU53GVw
Notice how the trailers feature a piece of the movie soundtrack, as opposed to the next episode theme.
And to put it in simple terms, the trailer makes you feel that "It is happening". And I sure want it to happen at this point.
I also think the next Shin trailer will be longer than the 3.0 one, as there isn't (that we know) a crazy twist being hidden that could easily be given away simply by looking at the character design. The trailers for 2.0 and Shin Godzilla are close to what I expect.
