S² Works "Missing" Songs

I've noticed, with tracks like "A Cruel Angel's Thesis", there's no vocal take, nor full instrumental version... Why aren't they on there? also, besides that, are there any other songs missing on s2 works? im trying to listen to everything. i like eva music, what can i say

edit: i realize now that tracks missing aren't composed by him, and below, i've made a compilation of tracks (with their respective albums, track numbers, etc.) that aren't composed by shiro, as to finish off the soundtrack.

It's called "S^2 Works" for "Shiro Sagisu", so the set only includes pieces that Sagisu composed, arranged, or both. Hence only the versions of Cruel Angel's Thesis, FMttM, etc., that Sagisu worked on will be there.

Just for the future, please make use of the "Edit" function instead of double-posting. Double-posting is acceptable under specific circumstances (bumping a thread about your original work to showcase a new installment, for instance), but not when you simply want to add something to your post that you forgot.

You find out by comparing the track list for S2 Works to the track lists for the various other albums, I suppose!

No download link to the music, as that's against our rules, but if you would like to share a "text only" version of the playlist, it would be lovely to see the results of your research that way .

Giuseppe Verdi & Shiro Sagisu - [EVANGELION : DEATH #16] Dies irae [REQUIEM] [Bonus Track]

as expected, it's all fantastic. i'll be posting a full review of it plus all of s2 works soon! i really do love this soundtrack and show to death. the only piece of media that's even come close to affecting me as personally was It's Such a Beautiful Day, which made me sentimental for three hours, but that's it.
also, you seem very nice, especially for a mod. ^_^
for those curious, you can go to theoldsystem . com and do a bit of hunting through that site's different links to find s2 works 16-bit flacs, not to mention every nge single and album. happy huntin!

S² Works is specifically Shiro Sagisu's music and arrangements (hence "S²"). The tracks are those not composed or arranged by him.

yes. i am aware of this. this unofficial "8th disc" is just to complete the soundtrack, so you can have the tracks that aren't include on s2 works in one place (folder, cd, etc.)

"Shiro Sagisu - [EVANGELION : DEATH #08] Ware he no, Namida" isn't in the S² Works, despite it being a Shiro Sagisu original for Evangelion? Weird...

I'm glad you found the exact recordings for the classical music used in the TV Series. (That's what those are, right?) I've been meaning to find the "Eva version" of Beethoven's 9th specifically.

No, it's there. Track 26 on disc 5. Glitz2hard's listing includes other songs that are S2 Works, now that I look at it. "THE HEADY FEELING OF FREEDOM" is 5-05. "Good, or Don't Be" is 5-09. "THE SORROW OF LOSING THE OBJECT OF ONE'S DEPENDENCE II" is 1-32.

You never knew about the "Addition" album?

a few of those tracks aren't actually in the playlist. i added them in the text version by accident. and besides those two, i only had two slipups. not terrible if you ask me.
(i've now fixed everything)

The classical music used was taken from pre-existing commercial recordings on minor labels (read: cheap to licence). Sagisu didn't arrange them or anything. Although only selected parts were used, the entire albums concerned were re-released by King Records as "Evangelion Classical".

If you're looking for Eva Classical, there's a REALLY good live album called Evangelion Symphony. It has a lot of extended (read: almost sort of full) pieces, not just the parts from the show. Also, on Evangelion: Death, there's a forty minute bonus track (also on my playlist) that's just some choral piece.

Implying others shouldn't point out errors, since if they do they aren't cutting you enough slack? :chinscratch: And this is Eva nerdery, comparing hundreds of things is nothing. Start comparing thousands of things and then we'll talk.
