Mariya takeuchi - Plastic Love

After hearing it on an Evangelion mix on youtube. I can't stop listening to this song.
I've had to many IPA's.

Teotihuacan by Noel Gallagher (from The X-Files: Fight the Future soundtrack)
I've listened to this song a lot over the last twenty years (when I first heard it over the movie's end credits), and there really is no finer piece to accompany an early-morning/late-night stroll through town (especially in the rain or snow). Such a great moody track.

No kidding! I always adored the piano melody that flows perfectly throughout. Nice to find a fellow fan of quality music.

Gladiator by Warkings
Such a fun song to listen to, had it on repeat for the better part of 5 hours the other day

Not really songs, but -

https://youtu.be/kVzjh4XGrZ0

I have (metaphorically) worn the sprockets away from this on tape (my grandfather's), then on CD and now with the Internet. Especially on crowded buses and trains. Much more beautiful and orderly than the world is.

One of my great failings is that I can't play so much as a penny whistle - especially as my family are quite musical. I envy Shinji his cello (episode 15, Bach - Cello Suite, No. 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGQLXRTl3Z0)

Formerly Ilex crenata - decided name was too personal.

Not a specific song, but I've been listening to Linkin Park again, mostly their stuff after Minutes to Midnight. Maybe it's the isolation, the times we're going through, but songs like "Burn it down" and "Burning in the Skies" have been stuck in my head for the past couple weeks. I've also been listening to a bunch of Mike Shinoda's solo work, like "Fine", "Crossing a Line", and "Hold it Together".

It's kind of weird, I thought I was done with angst and nu metal, but again, it's probably the shit we're going through.

More albums than individual songs, but still...

Last week or so, I've repeatedly listened to both Mr. Bungle's self-titled album and Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. by Slipknot.
The former is pretty much the culmination of my experience with "weird" music (beginning at Primus, followed by Frank Zappa and Ween before heading on to The Residents), it's just eclectic and strange and impressive in a way that's hard to put in words. Just go look it up and listen if you haven't, it'll be worth your time.
The latter is an interesting view at a band before they were known about, and it's worth listening to for the early versions of later songs ("Slipknot" is an early slower take on "(sic)"; "Gently", "Tattered and Torn" and "Only One" are more familiar but still a bit different; "Killers are Quiet" is just as eerie and unnerving as when it got reworked into Iowa's title track), not to mention more than a few interludes into bass-heavy funk and...wait, disco?!? Yeah, for all the creepy droning noises and riffs throughout, its strangest moment has to be that tonal shift on "Do Nothing/Bitchslap".

What is your personal take on Anders, the former lead vocalist of Slipknot before Corey Taylor? I always liked his more guttural growls and his melodies but the band wanted to become more mainstream so they hired Corey and put Anders as backing vocalist which didn't last long as he left soon afterwards.

I think Anders works fine for the material on MFKR, but it's kind of hard to say if he would've worked as well on later releases (I feel like he'd have probably been just as good as Corey on the first two albums, anything after that is pure conjecture just because of the stylistic departure from Vol.3 and on). I'd love a look into an alternate reality where he stayed on, just to see if they'd have been as good (or hell, even better).

The most repeated song on my iTunes is definitely Manntis' cover of Lacuna Coil's "Heaven's A Lie". For those of you unfamiliar with Manntis, they were part of a MTV reality show in 2004 called Battle for Ozzfest in which 8 bands chose one of their own each to represent them in competing for that coveted spot of one of the Second Stage bands in 2005 Ozzfest. Manntis got third place while A Dozen Furies won although I feel Manntis won the longevity battle since they were around for a longer time than A Dozen Furies which broke up in 2006.

Just the EoE soundtrack. I just listen to it on loop. Musical perfection.
why can't anybody write a fanfiction without bad grammar and words they clearly don't understand

Lately I've been listening to a bit of Carpenter Brut, because it makes for good driving music.

In particular, been listening to Hang'Em All, Turbo Killer, and Anarchy Road (even though it sounds distinctly different from the rest of the album).

Also, their cover of Maniac is the right kind of weird and awesome:
