I'm not sure I need a support group, but I did have a small chuckle when I saw the thread title, so there's that.

I'll be busy for the foreseeable future, so it's not like I have nothing to do till the last Rebuild comes out, but I am still seriously debating what the hell I'm going to do when the movie comes out.

Will I watch the spoilers like I did for 3.0?
Or avoid it like the plague?

Because when 3.0 came out I still hadn't seen any Rebuild movie, and the wait till I finally watched a subbed version was so long I forgot half the spoilers I read.
With the final movie the situation is a little different.

The one thing I do know for sure is that while I wait I'll probably finally buy the Rebuild Blu rays and watch them one more time.

New to this forum but I've been a fan since 2013, and quite frankly I'm content with waiting at this point, considering the patience that has been required of me due to the recent state of the world. I'll be exhilarated just to see the continuation and conclusion of the Rebuild story, and I'm excited. Hopes to getting hands on a rip of some sort not TOO long after it releases in theatres (Unless they go for the unlikely digital premier streaming route. I wonder if that'd be easier to rip)

Using Torrents is really not a big deal, also there's some illegal streaming sites out there... I don't really understand you problem?

While I agree, it took me an eternity to learn how to use torrents, and only because too many of the old anime I wanted to watch weren't available on legal or illegals streaming sites, forcing me to finally learn how to use it if I wanted to watch those anime.

It's definitely more convenient to just put on a DVD or Blu ray and watch it. There's a comfort to it that these other methods cannot replicate.

So I kind of get cyharding.

But yeah, it really isn't hard. Took me only half an hour or so to get it and a few days at most till I could use torrents with some ease.

Quick question...

So who thinks that the movie is actually finished as of this moment? Like, it's just sitting, waiting, on a hard drive somewhere. Gone gold, as they say in the gaming industry.

Personally, I like to think it is, but I wouldn't be surprised if Anno will tweak it with the extra time.

We know Shiro Sagisu didn't finish recording the entire musical score so the movie is not 100% done yet.

But, I would guess aside from the music not being all there the movie likely exists in such a close to finished state - maybe there's an unfinished effect here, the need to better mix the audio there, etc - that anyone unaffiliated with making the film could watch it and pretty much get the full experience.

In the years since they announced Evangelion FINAL/3.0+1.0, we've gone from not having widespread font support for the musical notation character in the title to it "just working" in normal conditions. One abnormal condition, however, is this old-school forum software which rejects extended characters like that.

When you remember to research for news updates and your brain fills in the gaps that simple Hakone store merchandising must be symbolic! Considering the unusual character order  https://www.evastore2.jp/news-eva-ya/2020/06/21606/

The Eva Store is the one place I haven't been checking twice a day (or at all) for info; I know that Toho's new cinema opened yesterday but no news came of that. They're just replaying older KyoAni titles right now IIRC.
Please just call me Ian, "TheFrisky" is more of a title.

Since I'm bored, I'll take a crack at interpreting this image by over analyzing it and trying to find meaning where there probably isn't meant to be any. Going from left to right, I think the image represents how close Shinji is to the other pilots as of 3.0+1.0. Mari being to the left of Shinji represents that she is someone that he knew in the past, likely when they were kids at the Artificial Evolution Laboratory, and in 3.0+1.0 he will learn of their shared past and they will form some sort of friendship. Rei being to the closest one to Shinji on the right represents how she is the pilot he has spent the most time with across all the movies and has been an ever present factor throughout the story, hence why she is at the center of the picture. Asuka is further away to the right from Shinji to represent how the two have grown apart during the 14 years and are no longer friendly with each other. Kaworu is the furthest one on the right from Shinji because he is dead, and you can't really interact much with a dead person. Also, after learning of how Kaworu had manipulated him in 3.0, Shinji might be feeling a little betrayed by him and have some complicated feelings towards Kaworu now that he knows the truth. Alternatively, the picture could also represent the order in which Shinji met the pilots. To the left is Mari who he knew prior to the start of the movies but doesn't remember, and to the right of him the pilots all go in order of the movies, Shinji meeting Rei in 1.0, meeting Asuka in 2.0, and meeting Kaworu in 3.0.

Kind of conflicted on the high amount of advertising still being done, despite there being no movie in sight for the time being. The fact that there was even more than this that was delayed is quite amazing. Man...just all around unfortunate situation.

Also, gotta give props to Chinese fans on Bilibili saving all the Animator Expo content, including the NHK documentary. Probably one of the more realistic docs I've seen for anime, wish it was subbed.

There is a ton of marketing that I guess they decided to go through with right now which is weird to see considering, well, the movie never came out last month. I bet theres a ton of other marketing they held back on for the film's release but they seem to be rolling out all the merchandise marketing at the moment which was supposed to be complimenting the film's release. Also, does anyone find it surprising that they decided to do a Uniqlo collaboration overseas? I figured that they would do some sort of major clothing brand collab (Uniqlo) just not for western release, but they did it anyways.

One fun phenomenon:
Asuka has no eyepatch but Kaworu and Mari have their post-timeskip hair. Pre-timeskip glasses though.
Whereas the eyepatch is pretty noticeable the hair/accessories differences are very subtle as to be barely above the usual art style fluctuations so no promo artwork actually bothers to keep them straight.

Timeskip Kaworu: Spikier hair slightly shorter in the back
Timeskip Mari: Larger interface clips, different shaped glasses, hair goes down to her lower back (In 2.0 it goes only to her chest/shoulder blades)
