If anybody needs a dosage of weirdness, here's Earthbound-music with Weird Images. (It changes up every 10 seconds or so).

nice job, recreating the Live Action Scene of Eoe! :)
Just one thing in good faith; while I think visually your videos look great, have you looked into upgrading your audio?

Thanks very much. I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out.

Just one thing in good faith; while I think visually your videos look great, have you looked into upgrading your audio?

I did consider putting a bit more into the audio when I started, but it just ended up being just that little bit more work than I was willing to do. I do have the resources for external audio and a proper mic positioning but that would mean extra set up time for every recording, and extra time for syncing audio when editing.
Because I'm pumping out a video a day I decided to stick with the cheap and dirty option of inbuilt audio but with a decent shotgun mic mounted on the camera, so that at least I had a bit of directional audio and I wasn't recording off the terrible inbuilt mic.
I appreciate the feedback though. Thanks!

Quarantine is killing me, but it's also allowing me to finish up a back log of random video projects that's just been sitting in my hard drives unfinished.

Here's a video I shot back in November called Live-Action Lofi Hip Hip Radio beats to study/relax to. Between other projects and computers dying on me, it took about 5 months to complete this video.

The entire thing is a composite image of several different videos I filmed specifically for this project. The girl herself and the desk she's sitting at were filmed in front of a green screen in 4K resolution with a color depth of 8 bits using the Panasonic GH4 DLSR camera. The objects on the desk were filmed using the same camera on the same settings color profile (the settings change depending on lighting) and had to be rotoscoped out by hand, both to give the smooth edges a cleaner matte and because the green screen was too small to fit all of the inanimate objects in front of it. Everything else in the shot was also rotoscoped by hand. For example, the bookcase in the back was taken from a separate video from the wall. In fact, the bookcase, the wall, the sign on the wall, the window sill, the cat sitting on top of the window sill, and the scenery outside of the window are all separate videos rotoscoped on top of each other. (Well, the cat is actually the result of a Luma Key, a process where, instead of the color green, colors above certain brightness levels are keyed out of the video, leaving the darker colors visible.) The cat's shadow on the window sill had to be created by copying the cat twice over and making them silhouettes. I then squashed and stretched the silhouettes around and blurred them up until they looked relatively convincing. (The objects on the desk are used to kinda hide places where the effects is less convincing in some places.) The whole video is then squashed down to 1080p and has a faint film grain filter placed over it to further hide the seams in the video.

I have the video private until a fraudulent, automatic copyright claim on it expires. But I still want people's opinions on it, so there it is.

Thanks! The project helped me appreciate just how much work goes into big Hollywood effects movies, even the ones I don't like. It also excites me that the technology is far more available it people that it used to be, and that I can basically do the same thing they can with the tools available to me. Lofi chill hop/mumblecore movies really fit my aesthetic, too, so it was a nice proof of concept to see if I could actually accomplish this type of effects work.

Now when I say "We'll fix it in post," I know for certain that I can do that.

UPDATE: “Live-Action Lofi Hip Hop Radio beats to relax/study to” is now public and searchable on YouTube. (I had it listed as private.) It’s still a new-ish upload, with only 60 some-odd views, so not all searches will result in the video showing up.

Oh yeah, there's quite a few of these. Mio also did some really nice covers of Cruel Angel's Thesis and Tamashii no Refrain in her karaoke strwams and she's seemingly just an Eva nerd in general

^ Kiara did a fine version of CAT recently too (with a knowing "anta baka" during one of the instrumental parts for good measure).

Yeah, quite a few holomembers dit CAT at some point, perhaps unsurprisingly.

But yeah, those are awesome. Especially Song of Storms works way better than it has any right to
EDIT: Oh, and Stone Tower Temple, but that might just be personal bias
