Khara releases all three Rebuild films on YouTube
I don't know if this is some temporary thing, but it seems like all three Rebuild films have been posted to Studio Khara's official YouTube channel. Looks like there aren't any subtitles, yet, but it's still pretty cool.

Thanks for the neat find! People can now watch the first two installments with the original Japanese texts/credits if they don't have the Japanese Blu-rays or have it (files) downloaded to the computers.

I don't know if there are any other post-BD fixes, but at the very least, Shinji's dumb vanishing choker is fixed, so there's that to enjoy as well.

I'm still surprised kinda surprised that made it past quality control. Did we ever find out what caused it? Nice to see that it's been fixed.

If I had to guess either just a plain oversight while making the scene, or that somewhere during production, concepts and scene order were shuffled and some sketch or keyframe wasn't updated.

When you've been working on a project for a long time and are seeing it again and again, you start looking at different things than the obvious ones.
This is really interesting in any case. Basically a new edition of the film. I guess at some point there will be a collection of the films or something, and it'll be the newest version of them.

Part of the shot in question is used in the Q trailers, with the choker removed for... reasons. I just did a direct comparison, and the "choker-less" frames created for the trailers correspond
EDIT: I've made a comparison GIF (left is trailer, right is finished movie). I didn't check all of the trailers, so if there are any where the shot goes on longer, please let me know and I will adjust the GIF accordingly.

I didn't notice this till you pointed it out. Makes me almost interested in all watching the original JPN Blu-rays and see how khara's youtube versions compare (if there are any differences). Almost. Maybe if I had your observational skills, I would.
I'm actually surprised khara released the films online. Don't most companies got out their way NOT to put their films online in YouTube unless you pay $.

There are many things getting put online to take our minds off this crisis by sources usually more tight-fisted. In the UK alone I'm currently watching weekly releases from:
National Theatre Live (films never put on DVD/BD, but each online for a week - was to be a month, but they've reduced it)
Royal Opera/Royal Ballet (films normally available on DVD/BD, online for a week)
Hampstead Theatre (films sometimes available on DVD, online for a week)
Andrew Lloyd-Webber (musicals available on DVD/BD, online for just 48 hours)

I see. I was wondering if, since Funimation’s release was delayed, if perhaps they had an updated digital master from Japan.
I wonder if Khara fixed that for their 4K remasters of the movies that recently aired on television, and perhaps if the YouTube uploads came from those 4K remasters.
