And you misinterpreted what I said you said I misread

I wasn' contradicting you, just human-complementing the fact that indeed, Revoltech joints are some of the sturdier our there...

Call them ratchety and stiff, but they get the job done!

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I was a fan back in the early 2000s, and I had collected all of the Evangelion figures that were available in the U.S. I *think* most of them were available in some kind of special "launch tube" packaging, but I think at least one (the white winged one) was on a blister card. I also had the Rei and Asuka figures from blister cards, but those may have been imports from a comic shop. I also remember one of them came with the third angel figure (or was it just a detailed base...?).

How hard are these figures to obtain now? I have no idea what the company was or how many releases/variations there were. I wouldn't mind getting some of them again. All I can seem to find now is Revoltech figures, but those are way too small to be the ones I had. I think they were closer to 7" figures.

Does anyone happen to know how well the Kotobukiya Eva 13 Awakened and Sega Mark.09 Adams scale to a Revoltech?

Hasegawa has just announced yet another rebox of their 1/24 scale Mazda Cosmo Sport, this time in Eva Ha color with a bonus 1/24 resin Asuka figure.

Probably another month of waiting before we see the figure prototype. Late June release.

Back in the good ol' days, the 90s, Fujimi made Misato's Alpine A310 in 1/20 scale doing multiple releases with different figures. Too bad the two are different scales.

So, um... Did someone notice they have preorders for the Robot Spirits Eva 08 from Eva Final?

They also seem to have re-released Eva 01 and Eva 00. The first seems to come with a new AT Field and a prog knife open hatch pylon and the later seems to not come with the rocket BUT with different arms, handcuffs and a signal termination plug from Eva 1.0, so if you are into that, now it's your chance...

Although to be honest... Lord, forgive me... I'm seriously considering buying the RD version of Eva 08... :uhh:
I like Revos for their organic sculpt, but in this case, the highly robotic Eva 08 is just not suited for that kind of liberties... The RD's are computer-sculpted, so it seems more screen accurate...

They look like totally new sculpts: 01's head is a lot more accurate, the overall definition looks different, the torso ball joint is either hidden or was redesigned, and the hip joints have been redesigned to avoid leaving a large gap when swinging out. It's what I'd expect given the ~10-year gap since the original releases, but I don't think it's enough to have me upgrade from my complete 00-03 collection.

Those sound like the Kaiyodo/Xebec PVC figures. Those were sold in at least two different packaging types (one for Japan and another for the US).

Getting them? Only second hand, probably from Mandarake or so. They won't be too expensive, but know that the PVC on those figures hasn't exactly aged well and tends to be sticky. On the clear figures sometimes you would get broken joints right in the packaging back in the day too, but if you get any of them nowadays be very careful moving the joints, as they tend to be stuck (so don't force the joint, it'll break*).

* as I experienced when I recently bought all of the Cyber Troopers Virtual On figures from the same line-up...

I've stumbled upon a Figure for the Wunder on German Amazon. But I can't justify spending 600€ on it...
I would consider it, if it was perfect, but it seems like the "tail", for instance is not a structure, but a piece of transparent plastic with the pattern printed onto it.

That really is weird for a pricey figure (the tail I mean).

Sounds like the Wave High Advance Model Series... I have that one, reviewed it here

Also, I'm an expert in justifying buying extravagant figures, if you want any tips

This is very cool, thank you for sharing! Well, the skeleton part not being a structure, but a paint job kind of is a deal breaker for me at that price point. It's still very cool, tho

Yeah it's a bummer, but that level of detail in such a fine structure would be impossible or at best, incredibly fragile... The approach of this figure is the best option IMO, instead of a solid body and the interspace of the "bones" painted black.

Just to see if I get it: that car is the one Misato uses to drive Asuka to the Eva-03 test site, right?

Yep! It's the mandatory Ultraman reference car Misato gets after the precious Renault Alpine A310 gets trashed at the start of 2.0.

Kinda dissapointed :uhh:
