They are not compatible, as unlike the NERV Evas in BanDai's LM/Rebuild HG lines, both EVA-05 kits have pre-constructed shoulder joints (which function well, I might add). Makes kit-bashing complicated.

Having built both, I found that the best 3D articulated interpretations of the TV EVA's for 15+ years were the LMHG kits. I still use parts from them in my more modern EVA kits and figures. There is little variety in injection parts color, but the simple articulation works and their proportions and organic-looking arms are winners.

Matte coats: UreCoat or Plasti Dip. I'm hoping they will work for mine.
Removing that forearm blade armor is difficult. The plastic on the LMHG Eva-05 is sturdier than most of BanDai's injection mold plastics, so I am going to try cementing arms from BanDai's Rebuild EVA-02 onto the EVA-05. I'll have pictures when this happens.

Hi! I've recently joined the forums and I've been going through a lot of cool stuff. I was wondering if anyone could answer these questions for me:

- does anyone knows how the SEGA Real Models compare to Soul of Chogokin first releases in terms of scales and accesories?

- does anyone have side by side pics of Figma Asuka and Revoltech Fraulein Asuka? could be the same with Rei.

Size-wise, the Soul of Chogokin and Sega Real Models are sort of similar, with the Chogokins probably being a bit bigger - don't own one of either series, but the Chogokins are rather large, going off of video reviews, I'd estimate that a Chogokin Eva is about the size of the Sega Zeruel.
Quality and accessory-wise, the Chogokins win by a long shot. Not only do they have die-cast parts and an overall superb paintjob, the Sega models are also rather old and the technology at the time was very limited, so I wouldn't expect too much out of them. Also, looking at images of the packages, they seem to be coming with about as much stuff as the Chogokins, but in significantly lower detail.
IF you have two at a similar price, go for the Chogokins.

Thanks for your reply! I do have the chogokins first releases and being a classic Evangelion fan they are my favorite designs. I was wondering if the Sega Real Model weapons and angels are in scale. I will also be buying some SRM because of nostalgia. They were my first EVAs back in the day and I loved them.
