FFVIIR looks glorious, but I gotta admit the biggest thing for me from all those trailers is a feeling of great disappointment that Nomura was removed from FFXV and that game ended up being trash. Shame for fans of XV that SE opted to utilize his talent on 7 remake.

this is an interesting take. I enjoyed the FFXV for it's messy fragmentation, lol.

Lots of folks that attended the concert claimed the midi-usage complaints were overblown because it made sense for the scenes shown, but I personally dunno.

Incredibly excited how from the "Tifa" trailer alone that Remake has such amazing attention to detail. I already pre-ordered the $80 Deluxe Edition (I've never pre-ordered a game before, never saw the point) because this title is so important to me as my personal entry into FF some 22 years ago.

At first I was nervous to hear how both included Blurays will be Midgar-only, but now my excitement's raised. The possibility of exploring Midgar's upper plates? The rest of the Sectors we never even encountered in VII? More character fleshing out for Avalanche members (our Party, too) and having "extra time" with a certain :resurrect: someone?

Sign me the heck up :w00t:

I'm 100% fine with Squenix focusing on Remake in place of a FF16 entry or whatever for the foreseeable future, given the care that's going into it.

I'm kind of disappointed with the Tifa redesign, in that they didn't add any muscle on to her.

It's kinda uncool, that you'll only get some DLC when you'll fork over 300€ for the 1st class edition, though. I mean, I never cared that much for figures, but I do want ALL of the game, lol.
If we could at least purchase those at a later date...

I was pretty disappointed that we barely got anymore info about the Crystal Chronicles port. I don't even care if it's a straight port I just want it out ASAP! I've been wanting to play that game again for years and years since I moved out and lost the system and insane amount of cables and weirdness required to play it.

The irony!

I think I'll skip the first game, at least until rumors of backward compatibility of PS5 are proven true.
I'm not willing to spend extra money on a PS4 and PS5 version of the game... Specially considering that A) they can't or won't say hoy many games it will take to cover the whole story and B) this is now obviously a cross-generation story. I doubt that all parts will get a PS4 release, even considering the "generation transition" phase were games are released on both consoles.

The eventual all-in-one package like they did with the KH series is going to be really nice. Another reason to potentially wait to buy it.

The PS5 version will certainly be a great package but everyone who wanted this game for a long time will play it on PS4 first lol. I think by next summer they'll announce if part 2 is cross gen of next gen.

Gorgeous, I considered preordering the Vinyl, for some time now, but this made me click the button. No regrets.

The opening introduction from the Demo (looks like we're getting the full E3 Demo that Maximilian Dood played) has been leaked by fans. Yes yes yes  Can''t wait for this baby to be downloadable on the PSN Store.

As cool as the opening video was, I'm bumping this to give a heads up that somebody with a PS4 Dev Kit leaked the entire Remake game and soundtrack.

Please tread incredibly carefully online like I am if you're avoiding spoilers. To say I'm pissed off about people having no respect like this is an understatement. We're probably never going to get the Demo at this rate with how shitty these multiple(??) people are, you know? Nojima-san (the scenario writer) on Twitter seems understandably angry:

"The leak really trampled over various things."

I mean, RE3 Remake confirmed happening was leaked earlier than it should have on PSN Store, both games Death Stranding and KH3 proper were openly out a week early....I dunno if Sony's shit just isn't encrypted properly or what, but whaaat the fuck.

This feels like a consequence of the gigantic teams of people that work on games these days. With so many people, there's bond to be at least one guy that doesn't care and does stuff like this.

It was a demo that was hosted in the PS network servers, not the full game... Either way a large amount of data was mined from it...

To be fair, and that I recall, this has been an issue since at least 2009 in Resident Evil 5, where a demo contained far more that it should and data miners got hold of everything, from plot, to ending, to bosses, etc.

At this point it is really dumb to have that kind of info in something that may or may not end in outsider's hands.

I'm not by any means justifying the leakers' actions, and I'm not blaming SE or Sony. Just saying that in this day and age you don't place all your eggs in a single basket. In this regard, the Japanese still think they should not expect the worse from everything...

I was reading how the Demo says "Purchase" instead of "Preorder" that supposedly the Demo's meant to be out after Remake's out on March 3rd. Since a lot of games have their Demos out post-game-release. You'd think companies would want as much as they could get from preorders but, shrug.

Industry and tech-savvy folks seem to think it's very likely the Demo will be out after March 3rd which...IMO that would suck if so, but whatever.

Yep, as of today: Music that plays in the 7th Heaven jukebox (and the OST that plays for the Reactor 1 Bombing), chapter titles/game length, allegedly all subtitle files (e.g. the full script), all the Weapon Designs, game tutorial videos, tons and tons of screenshots from the full game (including stuff like texture wraps).

where a demo contained far more that it should and data miners got hold of everything, from plot, to ending, to bosses, etc.

Yeah, the way video games function for a demo you have to have a lot of the data inside the game. Removing all this extra data to create a "clean" demo tends to take extra work than it's worth for companies, but secure encryption could've helped a lot of these problems, IMO. And could've at least cleaned up the now-leaked old production sketches, too...

I'll be honest, I actively looked for only:
SPOILER: Show
the design of Nanaki and the rest of Shinra's heads of department

The rest can and will wait until after first reviews are out...

I broke down and watched the Full Demo playthrough and it was pretty cool*—though I have two minds about the whole "leaking whatever information is inside of the Demo files" thing. Ugh. *Though the guy playing it honestly sucked and I was kinda surprised.

I guess if industry folks really do assume the Demo's meant to be out after March 3rd, though, that's a very real possibility too. Either pre-game release option for the Demo of either January 31st (23rd anniversary of the original game, pre-International version) or Friday, February 7th 2020 (FF 7) would be pretty incredible.
