Summer 2020 would mean I'd be watching it late 2020 lol (it's the bluray for me, I won't watch it at a cinema).

I've been waiting years for this film, I can handle a little more.

Toho didn't announce the July 29, 2016 release date of Shin Godzilla until December 2015. Eva 3.0 didn't get a specific release date until like 4 months before release I think. Unless Final is getting released in the first third of 2020 I wouldn't anticipate a specific release date until the very end of this year at the earliest. With Toho & Toei involved Anno has to get the film out in 2020 without question BUT I'd be surprised if they've already forced a specific day on his team just yet.
Though it wouldn't be out of the question for them to announce a season at any given moment. Spring 2020. Summer 2020. Fall 2020. Etc.
