Okay, well I thought this would be a fun little thing to do and to make you think of how hard making something like NGE suitable for 4kids tv. Heres how it's going to happen..

You have just landed a job at 4KidsTv as a top editor, it's your job to find good animes that are getting a lot of response in Japan and some state side and censor them to make them suitable for kids. Now have chosen Evangelion knowing full well this task will be a hard one, but if done right will get to a big promotion.

Now what you need to do is censor Evangelion and the movie to make it suitable for kids ages 6+. List what you would edit, scrap, and keep. Have fun!

It's not even remotely possible, as the daytime airing on CN shows. Evangelion would suffer the same fate as Escaflowne. They would get half-way through the series before editing it into a hole. They would make it to about episode 21 before they would can it.

I forgot who(m), but haven't there been other times that when Eva was shown it has been censored here in the U.S.?

Cartoon Network showed the first two episodes several years back during something they called "Giant Robot's Week" and they edited it pretty badly. Made me never want to watch that channel again. Well that and the crappy other anime they showed.

Man...it would literally be impossible.

I remember for The Big O, Toonami changed a major phrase from the show, "Cast in the name of God - Ye not guilty" to "Cast in the name of Good..."

You'd probably have to take out the crosses, Lilith, blood spraying. It would be a nightmare.
The pregnancy is now absolute.

Come on it's no fun if no one tries, and me and my friends have also said they would never be able to edit the whole series, if they did they would have a heart attack with EoE.

But still trying is kinda fun in a way :lol:

Edit: Saw the links made... dear god... it's not even eva anymore...

They would definitely have to censor out Kaworu's raging gayness. :wink:
Awesomely Shitty
-"That purace has more badassu maddafaakas zan supermax spaceland."
-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

Bah! Kaworu wasn't even there in those episodes, anyway! This is sick...they cut poor pen-pen out. Too many cuts, it's useless.

"Giant Robot Week." They should've had the Jet Alone episode, that was a robot proper and not a giant human that looks like a robot.

Adult Swim recitifed that mistake...as it did with Big O....FYI.

Only if they would air Neon Genesis again as Rebuild...hits us *sigh
I won.

Hell, if only they would air EoE! >_<

But if that would happen, it'd most likely be like this, being an R-rated film (I *think* in Japan, both the series & Death/EoE probably had the same type of "rating" as opposed to the series being 15+ and EoE being 17+ in the States) and all:

"Help me. Help me, Asuka." *cut cut cut* "...I feel sick." The End. :lol:

Wow... This kind of makes me actually want to see the censored version of episode two.
NGE, N. G. E., N. G. Evangelion, Neon Genesis Evangelion.

NOT Eva or EVA. Please. >_<

"Help me. Help me, Asuka." *cut cut cut* "...I feel sick." The End. :lol:[/quote]

With clever editing on that part it would actually work with out seeing Shinji's Baby Batter and Asuka's *slightly less inapproite breasts. No The reason why it won't air is due to all the scenes following the Giant Marshmellow flavored Rei. 8)
I won.

Well, the rights to telecast EoE in the US is currently in the hands of those at Starz Entertainment Group, so if it were to be shown on TV, it would be either on Starz or, more likely, Encore Action. That is; unless, there is a change in ownership rights.

But I would really like to see Eva on Adult Swim again. Hell, I would like to see it on that new anime block on Sci-Fi, shining on the dumb-arses at CN!

Censoring EVA reminds me of Cromartie High School for some odd reason... If you??ve seen it, maybe you??ll know what I mean... horrid.

Opening scene...Sachiel swimming up, bird flies off....then Asuka on the beach saying "I feel sick".

Shinji = Shane

Rei = Rachel

Asuka = Ashley
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

I want to see this, oh how it would make me laugh. Especially since the Shane I know is the antithesis of Shinji. :lol:

It was already aired on Encore Action, unedited, in 2005.
