I understand Persona is pretty big in Japan, but Persona sales outside Japan are niche levels at best. As if SE is really afraid of something like that competing against Final Fucking Fantasy. That survey question after the launch of Duscae was mostly aimed at Japanese fans and has little to no relevance in the west.

Yeah, the argument here is that the Japanese P5 release was too close to the WW FF15 release, hence the delay. Remember, Japanese fans are far more picky than everyone else. And considering how much pressure there is on SE with FF15, they wouldn't want people comparing the two games. They rather wait.

Also, isn't Persona far more popular outside of Japan...

The original Persona 4 for the PS2 (arguably the most popular) never broke a million copies sold globally, Japan being slightly higher than the US in terms of numbers. Regardless, it's a niche series with only a slight lead in popularity in Japan.

Sometimes it's not beneficial for either side of the competition to step on each others release dates. They may have worked out a mutual agreement.

I heard people online complaining how the latest build of FF XV crashed at a live presentation. Does anyone have a source to this? I'm curious lol

Well, even if that happened, as long as the final game is alright, I don't care either way.

I think this is the right thread for Kingsglaive FFXV...?
This is beautiful to look at, and I’m definitely eager to explore the beautiful world. Sadly it was edited so frantically almost all impact of beauty was lost.
SPOILER: Show
Also, I’m glad, that almost all of the Kingsglaive died and thus won’t turn up in the game.

My question is, why did they let the guy that created the catastrophe that is Advent Children let his hands on another huge project?
4/10

I've also watched all of Brotherhood.
I was extremely surprised how much Final Fantasy XV seems to be based on reality after all. The backstories of the cast was nice and all, but damn, does it look rushed and cheap. I wished it was animated by Kyoto Animation.
It doesn’t dampen my hype for the game, though it certainly doesn’t ignite it further.
5/10

So, there's going to be a total of 6 DLCs? Am I right that those are part of the premium physical edition? I couldn't find any official statement yet.
Crazy. If everything went according to plan, we could all play that game right now, lol.

 ...I liked Advent Children.

Which doesn't mean I'll like Kingsglaive, but still -- I'll wait on further opinions before a make a decision on whether I'll bother with the tie-ins before XV itself.

Yaaaa someone else who likes that movie!

I saw Kingsglaive when it came out on Itunes, I thought it was a good cut scene.
SPOILER: Show
I mean it has Diamond weapon in it, what more could I want?

However, I didn't like the designs and the fact that they're inconsistent with how characters look in the game itself. Square was clearly aiming for the HBO crowed with it's casting choices, and yea, by going in this middle ground, I don't think many people came away happy. It flopped in Japan because it didn't look or feel like FF, and anybody on tthis side of the Pacific expecting GOT type storytelling would be disappointed by an over glorified VG cut scene. Not that I think anybody who saw was thinking this would be GOT, but I really do "think" that's what Square was thinking.

Anyways, I've moved on, just give me the game now.

I don't know why people are surprised at positive reactions to Advent Children. I personally hated the film but I never was a huge fan of VII either, both of which is contributed to the fan base losing their rational thought in nostalgia over VII and AC.

With that being said, I thought Kingsglaive was brilliant, but it's really only going to be positively received by people hyping for XV. I mean, it is a fucking SONY film after all, and they proved this year alone they can't make a good film to save their life. But clearly a lot of work went into this movie and it shows. It certainly hyped me up for the game even more but Brotherhood does a better job IMO, however I still haven't seen the Luna episode yet.

Has the game gone gold yet? We're getting nearer and nearer to release and the lack of any REAL news on the game is worrying. I don't like how the "First 45 minutes" you can see is really just a montage with all the generic stuff cut out. Kind of misleading. The Death Spell trailer was pretty neat though.

Advent Children was pretty good, I enjoyed all of the compilation =).
Now something that I really don't understand... People that dislike or hate Crisis Core... like How? (Also note that Crisis Core was my introduction to Final Fantasy, so I'm biased but do understand CC has it's problems.) Cissnei in the Remake plz.

BTW I had watched Kingsglavie a bit ago and it was really good, it makes me hate the Empire and want to beat the shit out of them during XV as Noctis+Crew.

@Hui- The artwork for Kingsglavie is vastly different from the artwork of the game, which is probably why it feels different.

@Frisky - The game at this point has gone gold for a while. A big reason for the delay is Square Enix has been optimizing everything to hell. Like the build that would've been released on September 30th was horrible compared to what they've been able to work on because of the delay. Here is a link to a very indepth look about how they've been optimizing it. http://www.one-and-zero.com/single-post ... 6461-words

They've changed and reworked a lot to make XV look better and run smoother. Also a big part was the PS4 Pro being released.

Here's a video comparing the builds from the first Master to the build they have now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zyGlmON9VQ

That is one long, technical blog post, and the translation barrier doesn't help. How much of it did you understand?

I dislike Advent Children but love Crisis Core.
A lot of people hate it though because it added a new main villain of....questionable quality and in a lot of peoples eyes convoluted a rather simple story.

Personally though while I agree Genesis is just....ok, the rest of Crisis Core's plot is great.

I think, I need to rectify something... I enjoyed my time with Kingsglaive. The world exudes creative energy and lovely detail. Insomnia is everything I wished for in a Final Fantasy. (Too bad, I don't think, we'll get to explore it due to the storyline)

BUT

the way it was edited left me disoriented so many times, I couldn't figure out what was supposed to go on, to an extend I had to rewind like 5 times, only to still have no idea who was doing what. It seriously dampened my investment in the movie. Why couldn't the camera hold still? There's no way to take the beauty of the world in.

I like Luna a lot, too. Even if she's just a glorified damsel in distress at this point. The plot was super interesting as well!

BUT

Why did we have to experience it through the eyes of the boring, non-important and worst of all inconsequential Kingsglaives instead of following the much more intriguing royal cast more closely?

These two points annoyed me to no end, because wouldn't it be for these 2 points I could have enjoyed the movie so much more...

@Sicarius:
Master looks a lot better, especially the running of Noctis seems much more elegant. Hopefully it'll feel better than the running in the Platinum Demo.

@Crisis Core: I really liked playing it, but then my PSP broke, so unfortunately I've never finished it.

Not to much quite frankly. I think I should've just posted the video.

@Robersora - That's a shame. You should try and find some way to finish it.

@Rose- Genesis, while I personally don't mind him. I understand why so many others resent his existence in the universe. Maybe the remake will help and change the Nebilheim incident to clarify if his appearance is canon or not. (That's one of a few problems with him).

This trailer was marvelous, melodramatic, yes, but still utterly beautiful to watch. I love that the Luna vs Noctis thingy, they alluded to in the trailers for FFVXIII still seems to be a thing.

Ordered the strategy guide off of Amazon yesterday, I think this might be the first strategy guide I've gotten since FFVIII to be honest lol. But, it's been 10 years waiting for this game, so I might as well do this right.

The trick will be not immediately going to the back of the book and spoiling myself as to who the final boss is when it arrives...... Eh, it's probably Ardyen anyways lol

To help Hui - Maybe that's what square wants you to think.

Edit @Everyone who wants to play XV.

Guys look out for spoilers hidden in reviews, and general trolls trying to ruin it for everyone else. This should be common sense, but I before fell victim to a Reddit post that was labeled as a review... but it was all spoilers.

BE CAREFUL GUYS!
