Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

They're in the same universe now?

I wish Marvel would grow some balls, make 616 it's own line with an advancing timeline and pick a different universe where the FF debuted in 2012 for all their main lines.

Yeah after Secret Wars reset everything, Miles was the only Ultimate Universe character to survive I think.

They still call the main one 616 right?

Even if it didn't, why does he constantly draw people in that weird "leg tucked jumping" pose?

To be fair, he's only doing the covers to the books.

I mean, he didn't even write most of DKIII. Which is probably why it's so much better than it has any right to be.

EDIT:

Marvel. . . is there any character you can have actually STAY DEAD!? Vaghn and Whedon's Runaways is one of my favorite comic books and this kind've undoes one of the biggest deaths the kids had to deal with as they learned to be Superheroes. (redacted) wasn't just dead! (redacted) body was disintegrated by an Antediluvian Giant and the skeleton left to rot at the bottom of the ocean!

Furthermore, why are you making [redacted] a Villain?

SPOILER: Show
We got confirmation he was dead because his soul was trapped in purgatory to atone for his crimes, and his ghost did help Molly save Victor when he had his brain wiped by a logic bomb!

http://www.newsarama.com/31423-runaways ... -fist.html
Runaways' once-dead turncoat and arch-nemesis Alex Wilder is back and setting up shop in New York City, and coming directly in conflict with Luke Cage and Danny Rand.

As announced at Friday's "Marvel NOW!: Divided We Stand" panel at New York Comic Con 2016, Alex Wilder will prominently feature in an upcoming Power Man & Iron Fist storyline. Series writer David Walker has told Newsarama that Wilder will become "one of the most crucial villains in the Marvel Universe" beginning with this arc.

Walker spoke with Newsarama about this new facet to Power Man & Iron Fist, beginning his second year on the book with Sanford Greene, and what it's like writing the title while Netflix's Luke Cage series is debuting.

Jean Grey is also.

So many levels of blah.
I just soooo don't give a crap about the X-Men anymore.

A Storm or Domino series would grab my interest again but that is about it.

What... The... Fuck...
I haven't been reading the Mockingbird ongoing, 1st issue was good & fun, then I got behind and then I saw that the 3rd issue had gone off into this giant tangent about tampons, so I put it on the back burner.
Last issue came out today.
The writer Chelsea Cain has retconned Bobbi's rape by the Phantom Rider as her choosing to cheat on Clint and the idea that she was drugged and raped was just something Clint made up in his head to justify the cheating.
SPOILER: Show

Ok... so why did Bobbi let the Rider fall off a cliff to his death if he didn't rape her??? Because she hasn't reconned his death.
So... Is Bobbi now a random murderer (along with being a sociopathic adultress?)
GOD DAMMIT
Marvel for fuck's sake, do you understand the concepts of pathos and a editor?

^ Marvel's political agenda has gone so far left they've bent to the horseshoe.

A combination of social outrage from certain groups and the Disney buyout is likely to blame for Disney nyxing their more controversial story lines from continuity.

Even if you don't like the storyline, fans will forgive anything in the name of continuity and Legacy. A bad writer tries to either erase past events or pretend they never happened. A good writer takes what worked about a storyline they didn't like and build upon it to make something better.

You don't throw out a key part of a character's back-story just because you have a political agenda or because something about said backstory triggers you.

Makes me glad I switched to DC. Rebirth has been going strong and producing quality story after quality story. And political stuff like this is kept to a minimum.

EDIT:
As if to drive the point home about how far Marvel is willing to go to appease the whiners. J Scott Campell has found himself in hot water for drawing the new teenage Iron Man in a 'sexy pose'.

When artists realize that they don't just make comics for horny boys anymore. The market is no longer niche; it's mainstream, and so they must conform to mainstream values. You want sexy comics, you'll need to go more underground.

^ but that's the thing that people who complain about stuff like this are the people who don't buy the comics.

If you got the time look up the Maddox video about the controversy.

by assuming that only heterosexual men read these kinds of comics you are erasing the gay or bisexual women who may also enjoy this. Or how about the fact that 50% of people who already buy the comics are women, and the idea that they would be turned off by this kind of cover is asinine.

There are reasons to appreciate the rise of social media in our lives. But the way the outrage Brigade has weaponized it against creators, forcing them to self-censor or else have their careers and reputations smeared, honestly makes me wonder if its really worth it.

1.) The cover wasn't actually sexualized in anyway.
The Manara cover was sexual I will concede but this is light years from being such.
2.) It's a VARIANT cover that would only be sold at a specific store. The entire point of a variant is to be something different then the main cover, it has its own value or even audience.
3.) The values of Tumblr/Twitter 3rd wave feminism are not mainstream values.
4.) Sex appeal IS something mainstream people want.

Sexualized depiction? She's just standing there, how very terrible. I'm more concerned with how the hell all that hair is supposed to fit inside the helmet.

It seems to me that if these people complaining aren't affecting the business in some way, then the artists shouldn't care. However, it's clear that they do care, and so these complainers must have some influence. The rise of social media naturally connects people to things they aren't going to like; it's something both sides of the coin are going to have to learn to live with. If artists want to continue putting out content, they're also going to have to deal with backlash from people who are offended by it. Plain and simple. Their move after that is their own, but they probably came to their conclusion for good reasons, whatever it may be, self-censorship or freedom of expression, and that's their concern. If they're concerned about their reputation being smeared by their own content, maybe they really should be reassessing their content.

^ do you assume Kimura is a horrible human being because he's made his whole career drawing a series of manga about rape demons (Berserk)? These people do. No different from bible-thumping conservatives in the 90s.

Look I could go on about this but since you've already Banned Me from the politics thread I don't want to push the envelope or take this argument farther than I have to. It's clear you fall more on the liberal side of the spectrum than I do, and if we take this disagreement further one of us is going to be banned and I don't want that.

So for now I'll just leave you with a link and be done with it.
