I never saw this picture before, but all I can say is cute...
I really doubt that Anno will be a character, mostly due to the fact that it wouldnt make much sense... To be perfectly honest I dont really want new characters in EVA. I think that the characters it has now are perfect for the ideas reflected in the series, and any attempt to change that risk losing the dynamic characters that made the show entertaining.

Part of me would be interested to see side characters like Mana Kirishima or Mayumi Yamagishi included and fleshed out, but then I have to ask myself, would that hurt the dynamic that the characters already have? The answer simply is yes. Although I think it would be interesting if they could work new characters in as one shot characters. You could take Mana and the Trident robot and merge that story in with Jet Alone, and make a minor conflict for early in Rebuild part 2 or even Eva Live Action part 2, presuming it gets that far.

I'm of the opinion New Characters means NEW CHARACTERS.
So no- I'm 110% no characters from the wide amount of side fictions of Eva will make any appearances in REBUILD.
So no Mana, no Mayumi, none of those other Bridge Bunnies, none of them.
You're new charcter showing up in 2 is clearly going to be a GIRL. Easier to sell merchandise of and maybe another element to add to Shinji's dynamic relationships with women (if that remains the focus).
My guess is it times for a glasses girl.
