Radiohead at their best are truly brilliant and ahead of the pack. I tend to think they're a tad overrated simply because they're not consistent. OK Computer is one of those rare albums that's just so perfect, so utterly genius that I don't think they could ever hope to top it. How about "The Maltese Falcon?" The Bogart version we all know and love was the second time it was remade. And I would say it was far from absolute crap, and actually quite an excellent film.

I know I should hate Independence Day. Everything in me screams at me to hate it. Every fiber of my being that appreciates good writing, story telling, and dialog begs me to see the light and hate this terrible, lowest common denominator creation. And yet, I just can't, at least not completely. And it pains me to no end to admit it. Dated special effects or no, when the part comes when hundreds of USAF fighters begin the attack on the alien ship, I smile, and all I can say is thats it's damn cool. Because it is. It was also directed by the Stargate guy, so I can never totally hate it anyway.

Independence Day is one of those great "junk food" films. No nutritional value, does nothing good for your heart or mind, leaves you wanting more (or something to wash it down with), but.... Damn, if it isn't fun while you're eating it!
