A couple girls I knew a few years ago bought some pairs of them as well, and I'm 99% sure it was because of me. Or maybe I'm just conceited(yes). Seriously though, you made a smart purchase.

Speaking of which, I bought these recently

For a second I thought those were the Maison Martin Margiela x Converse painted chucks haha

damn those look nice, didn't know what they made white leather ones, wonder what the leather feels like tho

Raided the COS for basics today.
Got a bunch of plain white tees, love how they fit and they're dece pima cotton.

Not as luxe as acne or silent damir or whatever but wholly acceptable

The U.S. has -25% off on everything at COS IIRC cause they've been only available in europe for a while, it's worth checking out

So the wedding I went to earlier this month was what this purchase was for, so I got to try them out:

There were a couple of other pictures but I didn't take them with my camera so I'd need to hunt them down at some point.

Very nice. I was planning on buying some black ones in a similar style to go with a motorcycle jacket I bought a couple months back, but instead I bought these penny loafers;

SPOILER: Show

I had the exact same loafers three years ago but in brown and wore them until they dropped dead. People were always telling me how nice they were too, so take notice evageeks.

I myself didn't buy a pair of boots until I was about 23(even though the winters can be especially brutal). Unfortunately I got a very cheap-o-la pair that came apart after a couple months. After wearing sneakers they take some getting used to, though. Your ankles will probably feel strangled.

I used to wear the tight cuts from Cheap Monday, unbeatable price for a new pair of jeans that last a fucking while. Quality and wearing comfort aren't spectacular but they're not uncomfortable or obstructive in any way.

Wouldn't pay the price outside of europe tho, I heard they're like 100+ USD in the US

Tried on the high slims once, the leg wasn't tapered enough so I didn't get a pair.

Pretty much shelved all of my old jeans in favor of 2 drkshdw jeans I got for dirt cheap and the occassional pair of gabardine trousers from cos tho.

---
recently bought a pair of dr martens gettagrip combat/jump boots and dr martens 1461 derbies, love the black smooth leather. plenty comfortable with the insoles, too.

been eyeing the carhartt wip detroit jacket fierce for the texture and its simplicity but I seriously doubt it'll be warm enough for this winter :/

Instrumentality one is an incredibly stylish person. Once again, he proved his great taste in clothes!

I went on a shopping spree myself, since I didn't have a comfy winter-jacket and Vienna Winters are shit and windy. Also I got 20% off for being a student plus a stylish pair of sunglasses. I bought:

These smexy bastards (I bled on three different spots after one day, but slowly they transform into a second skin, as the should)
Image
Also, a new pair of pants, since I only had two (one of which I don't like to wear any longer, lol)
Image

Oh, I also was at the Naschmarkt Flohmarkt, where I finally found a new vintage bag for 25€! (I researched a little, new it would have cost 139€). It's in perfect condition as well! Finally I don't have to use my old bag, which consists of more holes than bag, lol.

My first ever pair of non Levi/baggy jeans were some Cheap Mondays I bought back in 2007, so the company holds a special place in my heart. I used to rotate between two pairs of slim bluejeans and a pair of black pants similar to yours which I still wear for work, and they've held up very well over the years. Super comfy jeans, and the label on the back and all the bone motifs are very rad(the inside of the front pockets on my black pair had skeleton hands printed on them.)

When I bought them they were like, $65-80, and the jeans I wear now are like, $20, but I've always been meaning to get a new pair.

Also, I had a class back in 09 with some Australian dude who was a Cheap Monday fan as well, so I'm going to infer now that all Australians like them.

I have a similar jacket by some knockoff blue collar brand that I wear once in a while during the crappy winters here and it's kept me pretty warm when I've worn it with a sweatshirt underneath. The lack of a hood does suck though.

Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Wow, this thread has been on cool down for quite a long time now.

Anyways... in the past year or so, I've been really updating my wardrobe. Donating clothes that I no longer wear or are too large as I've been pushing for items that are a little better tailored than just a one size fits all sort of thing. Aside from my work uniforms, which I really need to find a good source for some quality polo's to replace mine which are starting to get pretty worn (Suggestions anyone?) I've really gone down to basics with mainly nice pairs of jeans and some nice shirts, with a nice jacket or two for when the temps are a bit chilly. (Have a Star Wars based jacket on its way right now actually. Cost me a pretty penny, but could not resist haha.)

I've also taken to wearing wristwatches as well. Don't see many these days that do wear 'em, but I find a nice, quality timepiece can really set oneself apart, and really complement what one is wearing, not to mention having a quick and easy way to tell the time  Have a cheap Timex quartz I wear at work just to keep better track of time while being inexpensive so as I'm not torn up when it gets a scratch or ding. I have a nice, Japanese made automatic I wear almost everywhere else however. It's based on a German Flieger B from WWII. Classy and go's very well with almost everything I have. Orient Flight I managed to snag one for half price from one of their authorized retailers online and could not be happier. I do plan however on getting a decent Swiss made piece this summer around the $500 point.

This all led to a discussion with a good friend earlier today on watches though. He said, in today's world he'd go with a smartwatch. I respectfully disagreed, as in my opinion, a good, mechanical watch is timeless and classy and with proper care will out last it's owner where as a smartwatch will only last a few years before the battery is bad and one has to spend hundreds to buy a new one. I just wonder if I'm in the minority on that or the majority

Personally I'd never buy a smartwatch, they have no class compared to even a basic wristwatch. And if I want to do something on a touch screen I'll just use my tablet that I always carry with me anyhow and have a better experience. Here's my dream watch: http://www.amazon.com/Invicta-Collectio ... 7&sr=1-532

Also one trend I hate regarding watches these days are the damn rubber wristbands. They're showing up on watches everywhere, even the expensive ones, and they all look so damn tacky. I sure wouldn't want to buy a $500 watch that's held onto my wrist with a glorified rubber band.

*Edit* Speaking of wristwatches, I picked up a rather nice one today for $23 at Target.

I have a few decent H and M polos that I bought about two years ago and that have held up pretty well, and I'm pretty sure they're still selling the same style. They're not fancy or anything, but they get the job done. I think they were less than $15. I tried to take a picture of them, but I didn't think they did them justice.

I love watches, man. Been wearing them pretty consistently since I bought a Swatch when I took a trip to NYC in 2009. Wore a beautiful Seiko automatic in 2011, until it fell off while I was walking down the street, then a cheap Timex from 2012 to 2014. Now I'm wearing this Seiko kinetic that I received for XMas in 2014 --

I'm with ya on smartwatches too.

In my other clothing endeavors.... I found a pair of Puma Romas in the back of my closet that I bought back in 2005 but only wore once or twice(at the time I hated black shoes.) They're really wonderful though, they fit beautifully, they're super comfy and light, and I think the color scheme is very cool. I'm actually looking into buying another pair for the spring, and they seem to be fairly priced, and they don't make the foot look too big. Highly recommended ^_^ Pictured with my old standby white Keds

It's not the most photogenic of coats, but I think it's pretty cool. It's an old working coat that some guy gave my father many years back, and I took it under my wing. The dude's company's logo was on the front right pocket, so I covered it with a baby blue bandana, since it's one of my favorite colors. Threw on the First Children pin because, Eva. The collar is nice and high too and I always wear it up.

And this is my backpack, which "rounds out" my "look"

Sounds pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the recommendation. There's an H&M store not too far away so I may have to make it a point to go there one weekend soon.

That's a classy looking watch Joy. Seiko really make some very nice watches. Orient, whom made my auto is actually owned by Seiko. They were bought a few years ago but were an independent watch maker since the 50's. Other than usage of design and engineering resources, they pretty much chart their own course still from what I can tell. (Still very new to watch collecting myself however) They still churn out some very nice pieces, like my Flight, regardless.

I hope to one day own a Breitling Navitimer or Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. Both classic pieces with a lot of history behind them and just amazing watches, but seeing as they run about $3000 to start, that will be a very, very long time in the future

That coat reminds me of one I had back in Highschool and I really dig the backpack. I've heard a lot of good things about Puma's shoes. I may have to check them out one day after my current pair of Black and yellow New Balance's wear out.

Yeah, smartwatches to me have no class. They are a nice gadget, but that's about it. That is a very striking watch though. Way too big for my tiny wrists  but it is certainly unlike some I've seen before. I hope one day you can get one.

I'm not sure on rubber straps myself. There's a entry level Swiss made Auto I'm eyeing that has that as an option, aside from leather, suede leather, a canvas NATO strap, or a metal bracelet. I'd have to try one before I decided either way. I can see one being a good fit for a professional dive watch though.

Very nice deal on the watch. Looks like a decent, basic Chronograph. I really want to add a Chronograph to my collection at some point, something inexpensive like that that just works. Lots of value for money to be had at lower prices. One does not have to spend a lot for a decent watch.

Thanks, although to be fair it's more of an imitation chronograph since the 3 small dials are non-functional decorations. Still looks great, though. ^_^
