The post body text has: "font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Trebuchet MS', Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;" whereas the profile box has: "font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;". But I don't see that as weird at all.

I can't seem to find the setting that would allow me to display posts from a previous page of a thread on the current page. On the old forums, you could select to view up to five posts from the previous page of a thread. I can't find how to do that here.

I don't believe you can. But this would fall in the area that Monk works on.

I believe that was originally a mod that Ornette wrote at someone's request. I was also sad that it didn't survive the transfer.

I guess I could add it to my ever-growing list of extensions I need to write, but I've got much more basic things to finish first, obviously.

I mentioned this earlier, I'm glad i'm not the only one who would like it back.

It's nice seeing this new forum take shape over time I must admit.

Any chance of the emoticon selection on the "Post a reply" page being slimmed down to completely static choices? The looping animations continue to annoy.

Smilies have to be toggled individually through a needlessly time-consuming process so I figured it would be faster to turn them all off with a database spell and then selectively turn back on the ones we agree should be there (on the posting page, I mean). Compile a list or something, whoever wants to.

The ordering did get fucked up in the transfer too. No idea how that happened, but maybe I could re-derive the order somehow -- programmatically, I mean; doing it the slow way would be simple if laborious, cuz I have the old database.

EDIT: I cast a spell to reorder the smilies according to the category they were in the old database. This iteration of the software doesn't support smiley categories so it was the best I could right now to at least put, e.g., all the Eva smilies together.

If memory serves, that was an already-available add-on. Maybe a similar one exists for this version?

The first few links on a quick google didn't turn up anything interesting for me. If someone brings me something I'll look at it.

I just realized we don't have a gender field.

Not even in the database.

Looks like it's time to figure out how to add custom profile fields.

...Well that turned out to be easy.

I'll write a script at some point to import gender information from the old database. Till then, set at your leisure everyone.

I have learned the folly of revealing too much, so no thanks. But I'm glad it's available for other users!

I removed the binary gender field from the QC forums, replacing it with a text field: "Personal Information" which people could use for that or not, at their pleasure.

A post of mine that initially had strike though in it seems currently broken. :( post/816969/Is-the-Vita-worth-getting-now/#816969

Test: Welp so much for this

Odd when it seems to work fine here.

There are a few odd cases like that with uninterpreted [] tags. Opening the post for edit and saving it (having changed nothing) fixes the BBCode.

I can see the utility of that, all the age/sex/location stuff replaced with a more open "what do you want people to know about you?" field instead, even with the risk of shenanigans. Personally I'd like to see joined dates and post count removed as well; after a certain point you're a regular and such things should cease to matter anyway, and the boxes/rank titles already have that covered adequately.

I've just realized that the forum statistics page (where we could check stats on how many posts had been made in a given month, how many new people joined the forum, etc.) seems to be missing.

I believe that was a custom plugin Ornette added. We might have to look into a replacement, as that was an interesting tab sometimes.

Did anybody ever change the colour scheme, or did I just get used to the colours?
Also, I'm not sure, if I overreacted in the beginning, but the Forums now look a lot tidier than in the beginning, so thank you!
