At 33 I was negotiating a deal to license my software (for medical image processing) to a Japanese company, which led to an extended business trip to Japan the next year.
Thanks for the wishes, folks. Celebration will come in a few days; today was spent going to London to replace the washing machine in a tenanted property, and going to a cash-and-carry (=trade supermarket, or whatever you USians might call it) to stock up for the visit in a week's time of my son from Germany, with my "German" grandchildren and his Japanese fiancée. But shortly I'll break open the bottle of whisky that I found on my doorstep when I returned home a little while ago.
