Someone made a fake account on Facebook using my birth name and a stolen photo of me taken from my mom's FB and FB won't delete it because they can't prove they're impersonating me.

If there are two profiles on FB, doesn't that play into their decision?

Also, that is a case of identity theft, so I believe that you might have legal recourse to compel FB to remove the account.

BRB...researching.

EDIT: Okay, first go here if you haven't. Second, have you emailed Facebook or contacted them via phone? Because email doesn't get stuff done.

Personally, I'd use the lesson my father-in-law taught me, which is that if you go high enough in a company, stuff will get done (the lesson in his case what repeatedly bad customer service regarding a replacement of a radio that was broken out of the box. So he mailed a detail letter of the incident to the president of that company, along with a jar of Vasoline to let him know where that guy could stick it. He received a brand new radio free of charge later that week).

Finally, if you can't get anything through on Facebook, check this out. I'm still reading through it, but if someone is impersonating you, that's defamation. And you can legally impel Facebook to take that post down. It might be a lot of trouble, but usually a company will take the easier course and just do it, because anytime they hear the words 'legal' and 'lawyer,' they glaze over and take the expedient course.

Reminds me when someone hacked my FB and somehow managed to message myself.

Caught an afternoon bus for a ride home. Then an hour later some foreigner sat besides me.

He looked okay, but... Why people like him don't use deodorant at all? Hell, even deodorant now comes in small sachets bought at any corner store.

I've never used deodorant ever in my entire life. But I guess I never smelled badly enough for people to complain.

Once again, Ornette stuns all with his apparent invincibility to BO.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Noticed a rather large wasp's nest tucked up under my gutters. Neighbors have kids, so I'll have to take care of it.

Since announcing that I'm leaving for South Korea in July, I have been informed that there's a fucking MERS outbreak across Seoul and will likely spread even more, especially since I will be 30 km away from the capital (Suwon). My sister has a week off from teaching, and she's been informed to stay inside and only come out to buy groceries.

My sister said not to worry about it when I arrive, but I'm afraid of being unable to use and enjoy services for god knows how long, since MERS doesn't have a cure and being deadlier than its brother, SARS. She told me to buy a mask from the airport and wash my hands often, which is the only way to prevent it so far. I mean, it could go away by the time I arrive, but I'm not sure due to the nature of the virus. I just *had* to pick this time to see her, huh?

Additionally, I'm not going there for some kind of fun time vacation. I'm going because my sister is lonely and I hate my life here.

Tried making bread today. I did everything right...except it turned out the baking time specified in the recipe was insufficient (incidentally this recipe was printed on the back of the yeast box) and the centre of the loaf ended up undercooked. Fortunately we were able to salvage it by slicing it up and grilling it into makeshift bruschetta but it was still disappointing.

What kind of bread did you try to make, standard loaf? I'm slightly interested because baking is a thing I'm considering pursuing. If it was the first time, don't worry about it. My youngest sister is into a "truffle making phase" and she's turned out a few flops as well as successes.

Aye, standard white loaf. Would have been really good if I'd baked it longer.

Well I don't think there's any point in doing any of this because the account ahs been deleted. But uh, thanks for the advice.

I lost my Fire Emblem Awakening Cartridge. I put it somewhere safe so I wouldn't forget where I put it. . . And I STILL forgot where I put it.

Ugh. . . Well this sucks. Looks like I'm gonna have to tear my room up to find it.

Bleh. Basically having to turn my workplace upside down and get everything nice for when our Regional VP comes next week. Severely behind in the gameroom as a result, but I'm getting extra hours to get us caught up which is good. Six and a half hours yesterday spent on cleaning and checks and maintenance on one of our ovens and the same today scrubbing down the walk-in refrigerator. They look absolutely fantastic now, just that I'm bloody worn out after doing that and trying to make repairs on some of the most mechanically complex machines we have out in the gameroom.

And to make matters worse one machine broke last night which looks like it will be a full days job to fix since it involves tearing half the guts of it out. -o-;

My copy of Saints' Row 3 crapped out on me. It freezes at the title screen and requires me to manually shut off my PS3. I tried deleting and reinstalling it but no luck, it still freezes. What really sucks is that I've only had the game since December and there are no scratches on the disc whatsoever. Maybe some of the discs are defective?

I'm not hungover, but I did drink seven cans of Coke last night in order to stay awake during a massive, twelve-hour party. It's the morning (afternoon by now) after, and I do not feel good. In fact, I feel very bad. This was a mistake, and not one that I plan on making again.

Alcohol = sugar, so it's the same effects on your body, even if that was just soda.

Feel better soon! :D Plenty of water can help flush the bad crap out.
