I like girls in jackets as a fairly general rule of thumb. I also like winter clothing. The legwarmers are cute, too-- I remember some girls I knew tried to bring them back a few years ago. They stopped wearing them, but they were sure as hell cute when they had 'em on.
This looks just like the way I wrote Asuka's appearance in my fic! Right down to her wearing the plugsuit under her skirt!

I like images of the children as. . . children. Divorced from all the creepy waifu-isms a lot of other fanart has. There is a sense of innocence to pictures like this. Children don't hold biases, at least at first. Here they aren't eva pilots they're just two kids fascinated and curious of something we the viewer should find inherently horrifying.
I have a hard time looking at Misato art/fanart knowing what she'd turn into after 2.0. . . sorry.
