Space Ghost I can understand if you were a fan of the original cartoon (but these days, who is, compared to the character's modern, humorous incarnation?), but... the guy who made Nutella?

Yes. Asides from Tic-Tacs, his father also made the next best thing since peanut butter.

Also, I used to watch those old rerun episodes when I was a kid.

Don't know...just seems odd since I liked Nutella. Not that I eat much of it.

And I did watch Space Ghost and all those 60s' cartoons as a kid.

I just heard about Nimoy. He had a nice long life at 83, but it would have been too soon even if he made it to 100.

Sorry 2015, I don't care if you cure cancer, you will never be remembered as a good year.

You have lived long and prospered. Now that your long life has come to an end, may you rest in peace, Leonard Nimoy.

Regardless of who passes away later this year, this will be one of the saddest.

This. He also arguably played a key role in extending the longevity of the franchise what with directing the respectable ST:III and the box office smash that was ST:IV, thereby virtually guaranteeing that TNG and further films would happen.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Vulcans do not LACK emotion; they simply train themselves to suppress emotion. Spock is not a full-blooded Vulcan, either, and his life constituted an ongoing struggle to find an identity for himself between seemingly polar extremes (humans embrace emotion, Vulcans do not). He's a rightfully beloved character. Check out some of Nimoy's work if you have the time.

Sad to see Nimoy go, but I can't say TOS cast deaths are altogether unexpected at this point. I guess statistically, Nichols is likely to be the last one standing.
