Sucks how it looks to be Japan-only (need to input a postal code). I've noticed that a lot with Amazon JP lately. At least there's always CDJapan, Play-Asia, Yes Asia, etc.

EDIT: Maybe it's because my amazon.co.jp account is old as hell, but I have no problems ordering stuff from them.

I've used YesAsia for Blu-rays on the three Rebuild films to date, I'm okay with using YesAsia again for this.

Hey, SSD, you might want to note on the news post that the prices of ¥38000 and ¥18000 are pre-tax. Looking at the Amazon listing provided by vito, the real price is ¥41040.

Tax only applies if you live within Japan, which is pretty much noone here so the +tax price is irrelevant.

I hope FUNi announces picking it up ASAP. I'd also love for a new dub, but I doubt that it'd happen.
I finally put something here!

Wait, does that mean you got it at the pre-tax price? If so, that's awesome. Makes it £17 cheaper for me at least.

Holy crap, well I need to save up then. -o-;
The quality better be good.

This may have been brought up before, but will this include English subs at-least?

Yes.

Japan taxes don't apply.

Your local ones usually do.

No issues pre-ordering it here, and no taxes either. Just list price plus shipping (which is where the 41040 yen figure comes from).

Preordered the DVD and Bluray sets. No problems with international shipping. Really high import fees deposit, but I had it all refunded last time I ordered something so maybe it won't be the full amount this time either.

The wait for the announcement has ended.

The wait for the goods begins.

So just to confirm, the sets contain both the TV episodes and the movies together, there is no separate option? If I knew I could get the movies separately and that they had English subtitles, this would be a buy for me. Hopefully, if it does come stateside, perhaps they will have that option.

I'd be surprised if they had English subs. Best we can hope for is adaptations of existing subs (likely from the Platinum release) into a well-timed subtitle track. I expect those will show up around August 27 or so.

If there was confirmation that the Blu-ray set had English subs I'd be on them with the quickness. Else-wise, looks I'm in for the long wait of a Western release.

Yeah, a series is way too expensive for me to buy from Japan. Once Blu-rays get up over $100 I start feeling as though I shod have spent the money on something else, and I don't enjoy the series as much as a result. $60 BDs are my limit.

$330 dollars? Damn.

I mean, we expected it to be expensive, but that's insane. Plus if/when it comes over, we might end up paying more.

This is distressing.

^ I Doubt the US release would charge over $100. Cowboy Bebop Blu-rays in Japan still costs $170 (the Limited Edition version of the BDs from Japan was close to $300), but the exact same series is provided on Blu-ray by Funimation on Amazon for about $35 (knocked down from about $60.) If Funi brings NGE over to the US, chances are they’ll bring the BD set down to under $100.

Japan always pays more $$$ when it comes to home media. This isn't shocking in the least

I'm a gonna buy it.

Buying international Blu-Rays is a real rarity for me. In fact I can count how many times I've done it before on one hand. 3 times. For the Rebuilds.
This will be worth it.

Especially since a quick glimpse online told me Cowboy Bebop hit Bluray in Japan December 2012. It wasn't released in the states by Funimation until December 2014.
