The author described it as being "about the general childishness of man, the only form of life that refuses to grow up." Sounds like Anno could have drawn inspiration for more than just imagery, but we wouldn't really know unless we read the book.

I was just about to switch the the other version of this bubbline set then severa and kjelle has their support conversations..........and harvest scramble happened.

So as I was trying to update my Sig picture to Shinji at the very end of Untill You Come to Me looking out into the distance. That didn't work out so much for me so instead I just changed my user imagine to Spike Spiegel from a newer wallpaper to commemorate the Blu-Ray release.
When Neon Genesis gets released on Blu-Ray I will use the new shot of my current/old Sig picture(Shinji with a Mug), but I still want to change it in the mean time.
I think I got it.
Edit- Man why is it soo fuzzy.. or maybe that's just this laptop I'm using.
Also another avatar related question. I realized that I have gotten a Square below my username and forum ranking, what do these squares mean?
