Kind of a boring arrangement. He just played the melodies over the backing track he wrote. The solos sounded good, but that's not really arranging. The Japanese transformation theme was probably the best part.

Oh, and here's the real story* of why they had to change seiyuu for Usagi from Episodes 44 to 50: http://www.sailormoonforum.com/viewtopi ... e7#p334900
*I've personally heard everything from her being sick, to getting in a car accident, to having her appendix removed. Nice to have the actual info available!

Since this thread has been brought back, I'd like to mention for those who are interested that Rightstuf is selling the first bluray/dvd set for around $50. I thought I'd say something in case some people want it but are a bit wary over paying full price.

For those curious about the age old Pluto and Saturn "mix-up" debate, check this out: http://www.genvid.com/diesgaudii/saturnpluto/index.html
ALSO I've been finally reading Four King Hell by the Sailor Failures tumblr guy. Hilarious stuff (with just the right balance of serious as needed), thanks to Stillborn for recommending it: http://fourkinghell.smackjeeves.com

I had the DVD set lying around and decided to start checking it out. Watched the first two episodes and I am so far enjoying the rhythm that they have. The formula is simple: Usagi wakes up late, one of her friends dabbles in dark stuff, Usagi transforms into Sailor Moon but sucks at kicking ass that she has to be bailed out by Tuxedo Mask, gets the courage to throw her tiara at the MotD, morning after scene and that's all she wrote. For those curious, i'm checking it out in it's original audio since I would love to hear the seiyuu at least once in the roles that made them huge stars. And fortunately, the formula doesn't bore me at all so even if the episode feels like the same recycled plot over and over, no matter how they disguise it, it entertains me to the brim. That's more than I can say for the experience I am having with Ranma 1/2. Then again, it could be that horrid dub...

Did you buy VIZ's edition? Wondering if for the new dub if they use the same dub cast in Sailor Moon as in Ranma 1/2?
I still have my ADV copy of Season 1, just safely back home.
I really love the charm of the first 7 episodes being just Usagi and Luna (and Mamoru), since it shows she's not as bad at fighting that Rei later discredits her for.

I'm sure I've made jokes about this before, but it still blows my mind that Luna and Artemis = Yukari and Adachi (Persona 3 and 4, respectively).
The new dub (you can watch various episodes here http://www.viz.com/anime/streaming/sailor-moon) is pretty decent, though it's still surreal we finally have an uncut dub after so many years! My only issue is how certain things are pronounced wrong (e.g. MiNAko instead of MInako), but eh.
Glad you're enjoying it so far! I take it the issues fans have complained about ( http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/anncast ... -13/.81009 ) haven't bothered you personally?

I started reading this back when Stillborn first posted it but I quit soon thereafter for fear of being spoiled (or reminded) about certain developments that might happen in Sailor Moon Crystal. I intended to get back around to it after finishing Crystal.

Saw this news on Twitter, pretty cool: http://popvinyls.com/funko-coming-soon
EDIT: Japanese Sailor Uranus S.H. Figuarts review, nice to see the height differences are in tact with Moon/Jupiter/Uranus: http://ameblo.jp/alcyone-vx/entry-11969701912.html
Neptune, Mask, and ChibiMoon look like they'll be really nice too! I guess Pluto will be released last in the line? I still only have Venus because of space and money reasons, but the whole line looks super sweet.

One of the craziest but still kinda cool merchs is this:
Bare-bones phone, calls only (no texting or 'net or whatever else). But I'm sure it'll probably still cost a lot considering how pricey some of the merchandise is!

I know, right?
Any Australian/New Zealand Moon fans in the house? http://www.madman.com.au/news/an-update ... n-release/
Honestly, I agree with them in releasing DVD-only, since the quality was damn good on Toei's remastered DVDs from what clips/fansubs I've seen a few years back. Should be interesting since Australia's getting different masters than what VIZ received. Toei has 2-3 masters of the show, IIRC.

I'm telling you guys the best masters are locked up in a vault at Toei aka the original broadcast tapes and will magically show up when they decide to release it on bluray with all the extras from the laserdiscs and season memorials and it'll be a Japan only release. Maybe even the Saban Moon pilot.

So...I figured since I made an Eva VN a few years back, I might as well make an SM one. Wanted to make it an RPG, but VN is easiest because of the program I have.
It'll be about the one, the only...

Is EGF interested?
