Naruto hasn't been "big" for years now. It has been declining in sales for a while.

That's not my point. There are definitely plenty of shows better than Naruto, but in terms of overall popularity not many can reach the Big 3. I don't like AoT at all, so I'm not sure how its selling, but I know it will be near impossible to reach the revenues that Naruto brings. If you count all the manga (like 70 volumes and going), anime (500+ episodes or so and going), Movies and OVA's, games (30+ games and going) and all merchandise --- it should be obvious that Naruto is a cash cow that is hard to beat

Yup-- although I'm not familiar enough with DBZ to speak on the matter.

I don't think that Bleach was ever that big. It's always been One Piece, Dragonball and Naruto
from my understanding.

No, the big three are Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece, because their publication eras all overlapped significantly. DB/DBZ was bigger, but it also predated them.

Do not worry, from the ashes of THE BIG THREE, new terrible souls shows shall be born.

Because anime, anime never changes.

Or at the very least, talk of animu and mango won't be pervaded by the same topics.

more like 3 years

Shingeki is outselling everything bar One Piece for 2 years now. Naruto has been plunging in sales ever since the war arc started 3 years ago. So is Bleach. Technically speaking, the Big 3 are dead for some time now.

One Piece fans would disagree with that statement

As I suspected, the big three are landmarks for the generation that succeeded mine, no wonder I know next to nothing about them.

Of course they would but they also wouldn't admit that One Piece has become stale ever since the time skip and that the sales reflect that.

That said, One Piece is still dominating which can't be said for those other two prominent titles. You might as well call it the Big 1.

Let us not forget that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is also still running and it's been around since Dragonball has.

I thought it was determined by sales data and how much the series sold overall?

I think I might read the Jojo manga. I did love David Production's adaptations of Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. Has anyone read the manga? If so, would you recommend it?

The adaptations are extremely faithful to the original manga.

JoJo's the only fightan shonen that's taken my interest (as opposed to thinking that I might have enjoyed it when I was like 12); though I got DUWANG'd out by the only available translations of part 4 at the time.
