More Full Metal Panic!?!?!?! Yes, no, maybe? Ga! much hype! :derp:

If it's an anime, Kyoani or bust.
If it's another manga, meh.

If it's a pachinko machine... ha, lol.

Meh, it was okay. Could've been a lot better than it was though.

Nothing too surprising, we got a new front picture with the characters we expected from the manga, staff credits, studio announcement (SILVER LINK.) and the main voice cast.

The official character designs show a surprisingly serious level of panty shots, though...

Well, I'm intrigued. I'll check it out in greater depth sometime today-- maybe I'll add it to the backlog.

The co-author/character designer etc. is best known for her yuri moe manga so this is no surprise. Certainly this is the most UGUU thing from Ikuhara so far but it's not really out of his character when one things about it.

Silver Link is fine studio.

Really curious what this will about. I hope he follows his vision with this one, since I've read somewhere that he kinda dimmed down Penguin-drum because he felt one major topic (Aum Terror Attacks) would be too intense.
But I'm sure, even if that is all sugary, Ikuhara can make it work.

I'm optimistic. Going by the manga adpatation, I think we'll be in store for something special.

For now, all I'm expecting (and wanting) is a belly laugh and something to stick with me when it's all over. If this has both, I'm happy.

IT IS HAPPENING NEW MACROSS SERIES ANNOUNCED TOGETHER WITH SINGER AUDITIONS

The official website for the Macross franchise unveiled a new TV anime project tentatively titled Macross Delta (Delta written as Δ) on Sunday.

The project will scout a new singing voice to provide the vocals for a character in the anime with an audition, which can be applied to beginning on December 1. More information about the audition will be unveiled in November. The website features the quote, "The new singing diva who can sway the galaxy of 2067 is you!"

The last television anime in the Macross franchise was Macross Frontier in 2007. The television anime was followed by two feature films. Megumi Nakajima debuted as a voice actress and vocalist after winning the audition to provide the voice for Macross Frontier heroine Ranka Lee.

So, the name. Next Macross will be all about Delta Blues I guess, oh mama! :w00t:

Bring Kanno back again and it'll work out just fine!

I spy Ranka on that poster. The return of Puppy-Hair hopefully heralds the return of Xard-posts!

(Also once I finish Sailor Moon Classic I totally need to watch Macross now it's on my hard drive...)

No the important bit is the silhouette in the background, the new heroine (I guess?) to be.

Ranka/Minmay/Sheryl trio is just all over the place in merc and promo material as standin for and symbol Macross singers. Minmay because she's of course the original icon and effective personification for the whole franchise and Frontier pair because they're most popular and recognizable characters for majority of Japanese fans (your average Japanese anime fan is not much more prone than his/her western counterparts to dig up animu to watch from jurassic era of 80s and 90s).

I do welcome Ranka cameo if I get one though preferrably at MILF stage than GILF stage that happened in the past with one character... Anime is not to supposed to be true to awfulness of life like that.

Why are they treating Mylene like air? :dejected:

Isn't the date like 8 years after Frontier? That would make Ranka 24. That's not even Christmas Cake yet.

Never change, Ikuhara.

A new front picture for today's site update. Looks like I somehow missed the news of last week's Yuri Kuma Arashi staff interview, but fortunately Crunchyroll has some interesting info about the event.

Ooh Mister Ikuhara...
