Huge disappointment here. Not even a single sec of new footage after 2 years. Give no fuck for the title since this is the third time they are changing it (first was FINAL, then the symbol and now this) assuming it is the final movie. Must be a world record changing the subtitle of a movie 2 times.

Let's not forget they delayed the film also 2 times till now. First it was planned to air with 3.0, after it had a 2013 release date and now..... who knows.

In other words New Theatrical Evangelion = destined to be in a development hell since the start.

Another thought about this title. The Japanese dramatic structure Jo, Ha, Kyuu is three parts, not four. This ties in with the fact that at various times it was suggested that the third and fourth films would be released together, or perhaps in quick succession. This they obviously found they could not manage; but maybe the announced title is reminding us that the last film is in essence the second part of Kyuu (which implies that it will be a pretty direct continuation of the story as well).

Are we sure this counts as "changing" the title? The first three movies are 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 but also Jo, Ha and Q. This could still be both || and 3.0 + 1.0.

P.S. I won't get into any crazy theories why the movie is titled 3.0 + 1.0. I'll just assume until the creative crew tells me otherwise that the title signifies the 3rd & 4th films NEED to be viewed as one long film told over two parts. Kinda like how they were supposed to be just one 90 minute movie when this whole franchise was announced back in September 2006.

Yeah, but it's an Anno title card.

...yeah, I can't really put a positive spin on it. Either way, though, it's something for us to pore over for a day or so before eagerly awaiting more info.
