What anime are you watching right now? May07-Feb10

Postby BrikHaus » Sat May 05, 2007 10:21 pm

Well, maybe not right this second since you are on EMF, but which one(s) are you in the process of watching?

For me:

1) Giant Robo Television (raw) - Not nearly as good as the OAV, Robo isn't sentient, it's in a different continuity, there's no Big Fire, and the music is hard rock instead of classical.

2) Hayate the Combat Butler (subbed) - Excellent and hilarious.

3) Darker than Black (subbed) - From many of the people that did Bebop, also with music by Yoko Kanno. An excellent dark, sci-fi series so far.

4) Fullmetal Alchemist (dubbed) - Rewatching an amazing series. One of the best!
Awesomely Shitty
-"That purace has more badassu maddafaakas zan supermax spaceland."
-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

Right now I'm in the process of watching Gunbuster (and hopefully DieBuster after that, If I can find it). After these, I'm hoping to get into Texhnolyze, mostly because of Eva Yojimbo's high praise of it on the recommendation thread. I'm also following Bleach, and the so far craptacular Blood + on Adult Swim.

I'm mostly watching Mecha shows...

GaoGaiGar (subbed) I love this show but seriously need to stop dilly-dallying and start watching it more, this anime is basic as shit, the theme is courage and manliness conquers all, and the main character's voice is the same as Link's from Zelda, this is probably one of my top series.

Patlabor(OVA, movies) A pretty decent mech show, after the OVA I'll watch the Tv series

Big O(dubbed) Big O = win

Transformers(if that even counts) Lol 80's

Gurren Lagann, MANLY Kamina + HIDDEN MANLINESS Simon + boobs + robots = awesome.

Voltron: When I wake up on time for school I watch it, the horrbile dub job is what keeps my interest.

Gankutsuou: started in December but never finished

I might watch Hayate, I've read some manga chapters and it seems ok.

Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Subbed, except for the first 13 episodes of DB, which don't seem to be readily available that way...

(That's actually the reason why I grabbed the show off BT. I'll watch it sometime or other.)

Planning on re-watching Escaflowne starting tonight. That's the first anime series I saw about 8 years ago... Should be fun.

Currently reading manga.

Done with Shonen Junai Gumi and Bad Company, now starting up with GTO.

Currently rewatching Elfen Lied with newbie friends, but I do want to get on to watching other stuff (self-admittedly I haven't been keeping up lately)

Interestingly, no overlap so far.

And my list is shamefully long -- but then I don't have a TV, so fansubs or DVDs make up all my viewing.

Absolutely nothing. I'm completely uninterested in anything pertaining to anime right now.
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

God, Apparently you all have been discussing Q since November. Catching up on the discussion is harrowing.
