That smells more like 'marketing ploy' to me. Trying to find a characteristic that players found appealing and sell it to them again in a different box.

If by "marketing ploy" you mean "customer satisfaction", then sure.

And it was the second worst FF I've played behind Final Fantasy II.

I actually finished Final Fantasy II two weeks ago, after three years of putting it off because the game just kept giving me the finger.

By II, do you mean actual 2 or US 2 (4)?

The actual II, the one where the Emperor literally turns into Satan. I would never bash 4, 4 was awesome.

Also: FFXIV PATCH 2.3 WHOOO!!! Too bad I'm nowhere near end game to play all their cool new stuff....

Yea IX is by far my least favorite.

The new content is in fact pretty darn awesome. Syrcus tower is challenging but really fun and the story line extension is fantastic. Frontlines are great fun also... but they are not without their issues.

Mainly: Toxic players.

Encountered a lot of them over the past week and it's not limited to new content either. Got a hold of a Warrior today that for no reason at all, started being a complete jerk. Eventually he rage quit and left me, to tank a two tank required instance by myself. If it was not for the fantastic DPS and heals we would have never finished it.

Then right after, I got a Paladin that for some reason, refused to tank Halatali HM and wanted kicked so he did not incur the 30 minute timeout for leaving an instance. (I went as White mage that time)

What happened? We all reported him and refused to kick him or leave. (Since one of us would get the penalty instead) So we played the waiting game for almost an hour until he finally rage quit. (So not only did he waste an hour, but he got to sit for another half hour too)

Just because tanks get instant queues does not mean they can pick and chose what they run or be complete jerks for no reason. Sure, as a Paladin myself now, I do get lower level dungeons over and over that I really do not want to run yet again, but I do anyway. My primary class being a DPS I know how nasty the wait times can be and I will try to make that run the best I possibly can considering the others may have been waiting for quite awhile.

I think I may need to take a break from the game at some point this week. All this toxicity is really getting on my nerves.

I think I know what you mean. I'm not much into PvP myself (including frontlines), but man, sometimes the people in the hunts are just nasty.

Also, have you ever seen a NGE guild? I've seen lots of SAO's, Log Horizon's and whatnot, but never an Evangelion one. (Dunno if this is the right thread to ask that, though. Please tell me if it isn't.)

Tetsuya Nomura announced tol be at San Diego Comic-con. I wonder if they might say or show anything about FFXV...even though its not really a gaming con. I swear this game is becoming vaporware before our eyes even after being revived

Yeah, I mean I encounter more nice people than I do jerks, but the ones that I do encounter that are jerks tend to be pretty nasty.

Nope, I have not seen an NGE themed guild on either server I'm on.

Ended up getting extremely lucky tonight. I have been putting off fighting Leviathan Extreme because well, I have had such horrid luck with Titan Extreme that I have yet to get past it. Well they changed things a bit and made it to where you can fight Leviathan, Moggle Mog, and Ramuh Extreme now without having to have gotten through Garuda, Titan, and Ifrit Extreme. First attempt at Leviathan and we won. (Agentomega, who is also in my guild was with me so he got his first win also, although he has fought Leviathan EX a time or two before)

Was not even that hard really. Even having watched a video to get an idea of what to expect it was all very cut and dry. I wonder if Moggle Mog and Ramuh EX are the same way?

So if FFXV gets no news at TGS can we label it as cancelled or ported to next gen again? -o-;

After that E3(2013) reveal, I think if Square cancels XV (by FAR their most recognized and loved IP), they as well just close up shop. Hints by Hashimoto suggest as much that it will be at TGS, but if doesn't show then something is really F-ing up the development of this game.

Well yea, but the past 2-3 years have been for PS4 rather than PS3.

Bump due to this,

Wow does that look pretty. But that gameplay... Can't say it looks terribly exciting in that particular trailer. And where have all the famous buckles and zippers gone? The outfits of the characters there looked surprisingly ... mundane. Ditto their mode of travel, for that matter.
