One thing I like about online dating: You'll know ahead of time if you're barking up the wrong tree.

One thing I don't like about online dating: I'm not really sure what I want, or if what I want is really what's good for me.

Isn't that kind of like IRL dating?

I've begun to realize that I wouldn't be so troubled about my complete lack of romance and affection of the universe didn't keep throwing cheap expies of my particular type at me while endlessly taunting me about how I could probably never manage to even befriend one of them. It's like a cheap dating simulator run by GLaDOS, all the choices look the same and the only ending type is bad.

I always thought I might be bad
Now I know that it's true
Because I think you're so good
And I'm nothing like you

Porn and masturbation.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

I read "TELL ME ABOUT HAVING A SIGNIFICANT OTHER" threads on askreddit and use them to intensify my emptiness and longing so I can concentrate it, focus it, and wield it as a weapon in the realms of the unreal.

Crying and or meeting up with friends. Or drugs.

Firstly, there's one, erm, "leech" (the best friend), and with current observations, further resource strain seems less likely (i.e., even if they get back together, she isn't moving in here). Besides...he's my BEST FRIEND, and he's had good luck getting employed in a pinch (I got fired first, which probably led to his termination via some strange butterdomino effect relay system, and I owed having a job at all to his pushing me to follow through).

Also, my only other alternatives to living on this street peacefully are either live in Colorado with the woman who took everything from me, or move back in with my father, who won't take losing his storage room and gaining a dependent lightly, because any disruption of the status quo will make me a pariah in my group (who are also my neighbors, one of whom is my landlord).

I almost namedropped my ex to make her outing me to my entire group easier - isn't that a fucking laugh? I can't tell anyone in person because I'm a fucking chickenshit, so I'd rather let the internet take it out of my control!

Truly you're a man after my own heart.

Anyway, I'm still ronery as ever (although I have mostly recovered from my previous heartbreak...mostly). I am friends with a really nice girl (who incidentally is also into anime and horror movies) but we're just friends- not that I mind that at all.

I never thought that I would have to post here, considering I'm not that good with relationships or forming them....but finally being in one.....I guess it's to be expected and it at least proves more that I'm human, capable of being hurt....

Things have been not going well with me in this department....not at all....

Trust, it's a value that I think we can all agree that is very valuable and well worth protecting and upholding....but when violated....it changes you and who you thought you knew of those around you. It makes you question the very beliefs that you ground your life on...whether or not they were worth anything.

I'm going to have to make a choice soon...a choice that will hurt me either way, no matter what choice I have, them being between having a hollow sense of short-term happiness or my self-respect. And...I PRAY that a 3rd option will present itself...that makes everyone happy.

I know what I want with my life, and I put every fiber of my being into knowing what I want. And I would hope to share that life with someone, cause I would put every fiber to make us both happy....but if people are just gonna turn their back on me despite that....then I'm better off alone....

.....I pray guys.....I PRAY....it won't have to come to that.....

Not getting a real clear picture here but it sounds to me like you need to move on. If you have to make some huge personal compromise to keep what you've got, or at least try to keep a semblance of it, then it's just not worth it.

Apologies in advance if I'm too blunt in this post. Northeast tendencies shining through.

If this is continuing off our PM discussion: Based on what you've mentioned in here, it sounds like moving on is the best option. It's painful, but if your former partner isn't willing to talk while you're trying to keep the communication lines open, then it's the only solution.

It sadly really does sound like they've moved on instead just of taking a break, which isn't fair to you at all--but people don't always think about each other in relationships. And that's not the kind of "relationship" you should want to be in, anyway.

Best of luck with finding the right person for you! They're out there somewhere as long as you don't give up! ^_^
