The April issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine announced on Tuesday that writer Yūshi Kawata and artist Yukito
will publish a Neon Genesis Evangelion manga spinoff in the May issue on April 4.

The tagline
reads "The stage is 'Eva' x 'game department'!? Look out for this unique combination"

I'm slightly curious, but I hope it's not another manga like GoS2 or Shinji Raising. Please, something a little different (serious style) like Campus Apocalypse was. The "game department" tagline makes me think it'll be silly...not that that's a bad thing, but it's starting to be overdone, IMO.

I was thinking something along the lines of "Shinji in Tokyo" that picks up after the end of the original manga.

I've yet to read any of the manga's but I'll never complain about more. Just another Eva series for me to put on my backlog for a rainy day/when the drought comes.

If the image in the cover is from the manga proper and not a random image to promote Eva, then the fact Rei is here and that both wear the Tokyo-3 High-school uniform exclude any post-Sadamanga or Rebuild time skip spin-off.

I want a time skip spin-off! ;_;
