[Merch] This Asuka figure seems hard to find...

Here's the only reference picture I've found so far:
http://imgur.com/5ED0a2w

I've scoured myfigurecollection.net for it, I've looked through hundreds of listings to no avail.

I found this pic posted by another forum member, shaneva002. I messaged him, but his profile says he hasn't been on since September. I have over 40 Asuka figures, I'm on a quest to gather a figure for each canon outfit she's worn. However this particular figure is just too unique to say "Oh it's just another plug suit", plus I like a challenge.

Thanks in advance!

Here's most of my collection so far:

Being a collector is suffering.

^Once you get on that road, you gotta deal with it or get off.

This is a tough one, even Tolwyn's http://evangelion.eu/ doesn't have that figure and his overall collection is humongous.

Questions about a couple things:

-The Lego Nerv wall, did you make that? (http://imgur.com/a/93aTF#4)
-Where did you get the custom messenger bag? (http://imgur.com/a/93aTF#9)

Someone found me more info on the figure!

I made both the Lego NERV logo and the bag (it's a laptop sleeve). I ordered custom print fabric from spoonflower.com and used my badass sewing machine to make it. You know Husqvarna, the company that makes world renowned chainsaws? Turns out they make tough-as-nails sewing machines, too.

My god those Asuka figs. I aspire to one day have a collection that big. Also very nice choice of Daki. I'm thinking of either getting that one or the Clesta one next time I buy one.

E2046 are bootleggers.

They're physical pirates. They try to acquire any and all figure and resin kits made then recast them on demand. This is why thier site is 90% pre-orders. They just put the page up to gather interest and guage if it's profitable for them to try and get a hold of the original. This is why you'll never find original sculptor information there, making the site mostly useless. You'll get a picture but usually that's the end of the trail.

^Thought something was odd when I saw how poor quality their pic of that figure was. They even admit that they're now based in China.

They've always been based in Hong Kong. The site name, E2046 refers to the year when Hong Kong's special status expires

EDIT: I keep getting distracted whenever e2046 is brought up.
I've actully check E-Mono, Eva Figure Archive, Eva 3D books and the merch sections of the Chronicles Essentials books and that Asuka figure isn't in there. The first three usually cover the majority of the pre-rebuild merch so it's strange not to find it there. Either this fig is newer or from a really obscure sculptor.

It's a garage kit. They're fan-made resin casts sold at Japanese events that you have to clean, assemble, and paint yourself. Even if you were able to find the kit, which is probably impossible now, you would need serious modeling know-how to complete it.

^^^ I hire Leona's Workshop to do my custom figures (just one so far, but I'd like to have her do more). I think she does quality work.

Oh. Oh my. :| I'll have to look into that. I haven't ordered anything from them at this point.

Nothing is stopping you from learning and you have near infinite knowledge available from the screen in front of you

EDIT: Someone is in luck (if they have the yens to spare)

Not sure if being already painted is good or bad in this case.

Since most Y!J sellers don't ship internationally there are quite a few proxy services that will buy this and ship it to you, for a fee of course. Since I've never used any I don't know which to recommend.

Those yens are gonna add up...

I know someone in Japan who I met through ebay who's helped me place orders through the Eva-T store when that was still up and make some bids on YJA. Her fee is 10% of item price, you cover shipping and fees (bank transfer in this case to pay the seller and Paypal). I can send her your email if you let me know by PM. However the auction ends on the 16th and there will be lags in response time given the time difference. There are currently no bids, so the seller could relist the kit if no one else picks it up. If you want faster turnaround you could go with the proxies but I don't know how long their set up process might take. I'd say get in touch with her anyway and if the kit is relisted or is found elsewhere then you are in business.

I'm using this site: http://www.fromjapan.co.jp/

It's working out so far and I've heard good things. I got a bid in and found some other cool stuff, too.
