My favorite is probably the episode that shows the classroom-cleaning episode from Gendo's point of view, when he's trying to muster up the courage to give Rei the bouquet of flowers.

Definitely a tie between the bike episode with the great callback humour and Gendo's 'eternal struggle' in wooing Rei.
But I had no idea what the hell I was watching when I first stumbled across this series.

The episode with the chalk is always very well received whenever I show it at a panel. I also really like the booger episode.

Indeed, Unit 1 vs Zeruel becomes an invaluable lesson in the correct method of depositing your nasal waste.

Funniest:
Misato throwing chalk at a sleeping Shinji
The kids playing baseball whenever Gendo closes the door.

Saddest:
The spinning plates episode that ends with Shinji eating dinner with Yui. So tragic seeing Yui.

Cutest/Favorite
Pretty much any episode with tiny Rei I.
I love when she cleans the Angel with the booger.
Crying when she wants a cake.
Looking up at the new Rei from 'Happy Days' other reality at the breakfast table.

But my #1 favorite is the rainy day with all 3 Reis. Rei I sitting in the park looking at a puddle.
The other Rei buying them dinner.
I watched the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV show and films for the 1st time in January 2014. Heartbreakingly sad but so beautiful too. I'm here to discuss theories about what happened in the show.

Ooh, we have a thread for this! My favorite episode would have to be the one where Sachiel comes in, cutely rampages, and then gets its butt kicked. (Although the chalk episode is right up there, too.)

Chalk, definitely the chalk-episode.

Just the sheer ridiculousness is part of what makes Puchi Eva great, but that chalk episode is something else entirely.

The episode where Gendo and Kensuke are beaten by Misato because they were spying and filming Rei and Asuka. Followed closely by episode of chalk attack. But worth honorable mention the episode of the Instrumentality with homage to Ultraman, Shinji in the desert and the transformation of golem to Rei III as the most bizarre.

MisatoCrush: It's the episode where a pink ball absorbs all the characters and Kensuke's camera still working on that limbo. It is practically the opening of Ultraman, an old tokusatsu series, but with the Eva characters.

If you want to see the opening look for: ULTRAMAN - OPENING ORIGINAL - COMPLETE on Youtube, but I notice that the video has nearly 30 seconds of presentation of the creators of the video. They are annoying but bearable.

P.S.: My father is quite fan of this series and, supposedly, Hideaki Anno is also a fan of Ultraman and he used some of the symbols of the last movie of Ultraman in Eva 2.0 and in the Adams.

Not only is there that well known clip of him standing at the top of a playground slide doing the Ultraman arm movements, a little research will find you pictures of young Anno cosplaying Ultraman, and the action figure thereof.

Hm... I haven't seen a lot of Petit Eva. I didn't really like what I saw, it's not my type of humor I guess. If there's something Eva related which really made me laugh it's After the End.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...

Really? That would be like seeing a chicken with 5 heads! So the legends were true! I had heard the story about a fanmade video or clip made in the 80s, but I thought it was a myth and thought I'd better not say anything! Who would have thought something like this!

Thanks for the info, Mr Tines!

The khara intro has a sound from Ultraman.

Special mention here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOszSZdz17U#t=80 - what happens there is the greatest piece of self-referencing in anything ever. I defy any Eva fan not to either crease up laughing or go 'WAT.' at that.
