I'm guessing there is some legitimacy in the negative perceptions of the anime/Eva fandom, then. The videos for the Evangelion 3.0 dub premiere make me glad I'm not a "covention" type of person.

:nyao:

No but seriously, I don't have the patience for that type of shit.

It greatly depends on the audience really, when I got to see the Rebuild Trilogy on theater at a special event(granted that wasn't a convention), the audience was far more pleasant, and even made the experience even more awesome : except when laughing their ass off at the genuinely funny scenes(Asuka's "toothpick scene" taking the cake, but Kaji going all Latin Lover on Misato and Kaworu's infamous lascivious pose in the stargazing scene in 3.0 got fairly good amounts of laughs too) and gasping at the most shocking scenes(EVA-01 gutting EVA-03 with it's teeth, Shinji going all super Saiyan on Zeruel, Kaworu's head exploding), they were pretty silent.

A very fun experience!

Quick question what bonus features did the JPN release have?

Substantial booklet; OST CD for the first press (now sold out). Don't know about extras on the DVD/BD itself, as I haven't applied myself to them, but they include the script, trailers, and the God Warrior short. Mine came with a Rei mouse-mat, but that was a special from CD Japan (now sold out).

Asuka's voice in the space scene was OK.

But everything else...

Maybe I just imagined Kaworu's voice was that bad, I couldn't hear properly over the audience...

If you aren't used to the English dub, I can tell you he sounds almost exactly like he always does, so I'm happy anyways.... But I might've killed someone if I was at that screening and I am used to anime cons, I've never seen anything like that at an actual screening.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

The OST that came with the Japanese BD was actually the soundtrack as it appeared in the movie, so no full versions of the songs. I'm buying the actual song set for the holidays.

It looks like Funimation deleted both their tweet and FB post regarding 3.0
Maybe they jumped the gun?

That would be a right shame for them to recant, since they got us fired up.

It's also weird to pull it if it's the correct date. "The people must know we're selling this thing... but not yet!"

*Saves to Wish List*

Might just be a mock-up cover anyway, but I wish Funimation would have had more consistency with their NME covers. Not an end all be all (and it wouldn't have to be the Japanese release covers), but it would be a nice touch.

???

The Funimation release of 3.33 appears to have the same cover as the Japanese release on Amazon, albeit with a thin black bar at the top with a Blu-ray logo instead of being solid blue.

But I suppose I agree about consistency in regards to them changing to the Japanese-style covers after 1.11, kinda wish they would've stuck with the 1.11 style even though the Japanese releases are nice-looking.

It'll probably be like the 2.22 release. You're seduced by the cardboard sleeve that mimics the look of the Japanese release. Then you take that cardboard sleeve off & it's a poorly photoshopped "whatever piece of Sadamoto art has circulated the most" front & center on the cover. For 2.22 it was Mari. For 3.33 I'm thinking it'll be Asuka with the lance.

Not Sadamoto's. TMB probably remembers who.

I mean how it's (probably) just a cardboard sleeve like with 2.22. I'd prefer something like Asuka with the Spear instead of the poster image (Sadamoto-drawn Shinji and Kaworu sitting) since artwork variation would be nice. 2.22's cover featuring a Sadamoto-drawn Mari worked, I think.

This?

Takeshi Honda.

I don't see the point of using it since it's all lies. Also it's not really relevant.

Sadamoto's KawoShin pillar poster is really the most appropriate image.
