I made it that, which corresponds rather directly with my habit of watching one episode on my iPhone while walking the dogs, and another lying in bed before turning the lights out.

The real loss of otherwise useful time is caused by researching and talking about them on the Internet!

But although there's virtually no limit to what is available, my feeling is that I've watched a worthwhile representative set of each of the major classics, golden oldies, and decent more recent shows - and so I don't need to work so hard at it any more.

Yeah, I'm more than familiar with that. I probably spend more time on /a/ and various other boards than I do actually watching stuff. The more you watch, though, the more you can participate in threads and the more you get out of your discussion experience in general.

That's the real problem. It shouldn't feel like work at any point, really. Just watch what you like, when you like, without worrying too much about genre and whether you should watch something or not. If anything feels like work, I'd just drop it. If watching anime in general feels like work, I'd cut it out completely, at least until that 'feeling' came back.

I didn't intend the emphasis you placed on that; it's more that I do have some tendencies towards a completist view of things, and tend to get a touch obsessional about my hobbies.

But if (well, when, I guess) I eventually vanish from this forum, it's more likely to be a matter of my deciding one day: "right, that's it, I'm dropping this to do something else" than anything more tragic.

I hope it doesn't come to that. Good luck.

Oo-er - that's an awful lot to have covered in only two years; I think I need to have a moratorium on widening my experience of this stuff and recover the time for my other hobbies.

You did go right to the bottom, didn't you? What I call "planned" is things I actually have in hand waiting to be watched, not just vague intentions (apart from Eva 4.0!). Actually I started on the first Gundam film today.

's OK. One thing I've learnt in all those years is to make my own decisions.

Here's my list...

http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Olympus

I've recently completed some movies like Wolf Children, Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal(so good), and Summer Wars. I finished Madoka Magica and plan on getting started on Berserk.

I'll be writing some reviews in the near future. If you want to add me here's my profile...

http://myanimelist.net/profile/Olympus

Oh yeah,,, I finished watching Spriggan last night, that was pretty good. I had to watch it via youtube in 15 minute segments broken up into 6 parts, the top and bottom are cut off some and I couldn't read some of the text, but for being able to watch it for free isn't bad. Also it was the english dub which I didn't mind.

Updated my profile with my MAL last week. Other than episode counts on currently airing series it's up to date for now.

Thinking that I recently hit my 1500 mark, I noticed that the list actually goes up to 1501, but my profile only says 1500, with a total of 1505. Part of the problem seems to be that MAL automatically kicked a few shows off of the "Completed" list because they had surprise 2nd season announcements and those episodes just got tacked onto the first season, changing the status from "Finished Airing" to "Currently Airing", making it impossible to select "Completed" and it kicked those shows to "Currently Watching". Now, when I go to the actual list, it shows 3 currently watching and 1501 completed, which doesn't add up to 1505.

Don't know, if that's the right thread, but I wanted to ask, if anyone else switched over to http://anilist.co?
Since I'm a superficial bling-bling-bitch, I love that the design is so much more beautiful. The site's working a lot better on my computer and you can easily import your myanimelist-stuff. (seriously, when I can do that, everyone can do that).
