Personally, i'm more afraid that the thread gets spammed and degraded if we were to allow hentai discussion in here.

What hentai are you watching now would be better off in another thread or somewhere else entirely.

Finished Date A Live and waiting for season 2.

I really hope Kaze Tachinu screens somewhere near me, would be great to see another Ghibli film in a theater. Something better than Ponyo, anyway.

I finished Garzey's Wing. I've never laughed so hard at an anime; it's like the perfect storm of awkwardly delivered lines, and nonsensical events packed into one. I'm convinced that the ADR director was high off his ass while working on this, otherwise he could have never come up with such comedy gold. Not since Mars of Destruction has something brought on this sort of reaction out of me, I implore anybody how has not watched this masterpiece to drop everything and do so now.

So Watamote came to an end, it wasn't a great end but it wrapped things up in a satisfying manner. The show is just ok, it does have its high points but eventually the repetitiveness catches up to it. I liked it but my taste is questionable, probably deserves a 6/10. Special mention goes to Tomoko's voice actress for the great job with Tomoko's perverted moments and deranged laughter as well as her impersonations of other people.

Well I watched DYRL first and was completely unsympathetic towards Hayase. I finished the series proper a couple weeks ago and it did a much better job fleshing out the characters (what a shock), and it made me grudgingly admit that Hayase is maybe possibly a decent human being after all. So I'll promote her from 'bitch' to 'old lady.'

I recommend watching Kenya Boy next. I was disappointed when no one in this forum picked it up after Xard and I wrote about the forgotten masterpiece of comic gold and acid.

Kenya Boy is a treasure chest of unintentional humor. You're missing a lot if you don't watch beyond the first few minutes. You should see the giant acid frog for example. Especially the last 15 minutes of the film are so astonishing that I recommend everyone to watch the film.

Oh, and I finished Planetes. Surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did considering how much I disliked Hachimaki.

I took time out for a rewatch of Haruhi Suzumiya, including the film. It's as good as I thought last time. I find the conclusion of the film satisfying, and am not one of those who feel that the series has suffered by there not being another season.

But now I am moving on to Bakemonogatari. The first episode left me very confused - how much of the flashed up text should I be trying to read? Should I pause and go back to it? But in the second episode (which is as far as I've got), things started to fall into place. None the less, it requires the brain to be at its most agile - it's not something to be watched when over-tired. The graphics and the music are both giving me pleasure in their own right.

I'm a bit bemused about comments regarding fan service (I know these relate more to Nisemonogatari, which I haven't reached yet); so far, anything that could be labelled that is directly part of the story being told, or the illustration of the thoughts of the characters, and so is not what I would call fan service anyway. What makes fan service, in my understanding, is that it is aimed at the viewer without being a necessary or relevant part of the story-telling. If the story is being told using images that make people in some cultures uncomfortable, that is not the same thing.

Yes, it's very good but very draining. The flashed text is the most maddening part of the show -- there will be sequences where you get a rapid-fire sequence of text images that last for only a couple of frames each, and they are often very important.

Yeah, doesn't apply so much to Bake. Might show up in Neko (haven't seen it, don't care to), definitely in Nise.

Finished Free! Solid ending, though the big reveal was kind of annoying in that it was painfully obvious from day one. Props to Rei for taking the hit and making the magic happen, though -- the relay and the scene after it were fantastic! End was pretty cool, too.

Are you suggesting that I should stop to read them each time they occur, or would it be enough to go back after the end of the episode and pick them all out?

You are not missing much Hodges, it's not important to enjoy it. You're not really intended to read them in real time anyway. Think of them more as easter eggs. Take this from someone whose text-based-OCD controls me to stop and read it everytime.

Free! episode 12

Wow, Rei confirmed for broest bro. Had a good laugh at the cheesy drama and the totally not gay dolphin sequence of our little princess

Ending felt a bit rushed which is strange considering how long the show danced around Rin's catharsis. Still pretty conclusive all things considered, and I have admit, I enjoyed the show more than I expected. Had some funny bits, likeable characters and showed actual competition that it didn't leave a complete impression that the sport was anything more than a premise to show off naked bodies.

Verdict: no homo

Depends on how you watch things, I guess. I watch them as they come up, since I don't generally want to watch the show a second time, but if you're inclined to do that watching it through without stopping once and then going back and checking the cards on a second viewing might make more sense for you.
