Chapter 12 (the combined NSFW and SFW versions) has already reached 400 downloads!! In less than 2 weeks! That is a record.

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HAS DOWNLOADED EITHER VERSION OF THE CHAPTER! I'm really grateful to see such an important chapter doing so well!


That said, I'm stuck in a bog of writer's block at the moment. Once again, I'm up against a super-important scene and must be sure to write this one carefully. All that stuff I said last month about the final scene of chapter 12 being so important? Well, forget it now, because THIS is the most important scene so far.

I think I'll try starting in the middle and working my way out. Here goes...

I can tell you this, it was worth every download for everyone who did. It was an EPIC chapter, and I loved every minute of it, the tension, the drama, EVERYTHING. :)

And don't worry if you have writer's block, take you're time with it until you get it right. :) We can be patient. We'll look forward to whatever you have in store for us. :)

Loved the latest chappie of the doujin, Cat! I liked the way you resolved the whole Asuka ordeal. Though I am somewhat embarrassed to say I have not kept up with it really.

I'm with you from chapter three to now, I will not abandon you, even during your writers block. Hell, it's f*cking awesome.

How about something with Mari? I'd actually like to see some kind of superspy or magical girl deal or maybe an all girl mech team comprised of Hikari, Asuka, Rei, Mana, Sakura and Mari.

I wrote the scene. Massive. Gargantuan. 128 panels. I think that might outpace the infamous last scene of chapter 12. It took that long to sort out all the [email protected]?# between those 2. You will love it. 60 panels in a week has been done before, so I think I can get this done in a couple of weeks. Now on to the hard part woohoo!

I don't like to sound like I'm ignoring feedback or criticism, but in this case, I think I'm going to defend myself if for no other reason than I just like the way it looks and sometimes that's all fan art is.

It's not something I'm in a habit of doing, as most of my backgrounds are drawn with the character from the beginning. But sometimes, I like just like the way it looks this way. Sometimes.

Just letting it be known that I am sadly probably gonna miss a July release date for Chapter 13.

I know how you guys feel about quality versus speed, so I won't spend TOO much time apologizing, but even though the entire chapter has only 2 major scenes, the second scene is massive and very delicate. Basically this one scene might as well be the entire chapter.

I have decided then to give myself a little extra breathing room and take 2 or 3 weeks to get this scene done. I really think this is the very most important part of the entire 3 year comic, and I only have one chance at this. I'm sure you guys would rather I take a few extra weeks.

Also, after months of thinking, I've finally realised that EVA-303's art style seems very similar to that of Kim Possible.

LOL Maybe that's why I like to do those KP/James Bond pics. Actually, I've often thought that the style of shading was like disney-esque animation in general but not a particular series. For example, in KP. the eyes have borders all the way around, but in both NGE and other animation, the borders are removed around the whites of the eyes.

It's more like the lack of shading rather than the way the eyes are drawn, TBH.

I hope it doesn't ruin the comic though. The rank and file panels aren't exactly gallery quality fan art. That said, I've always accepted a certain... compromise(??) given the need to turn out so many panels per week. This is a slippery slope I've tried to avoid discussing as I don't want to sound like I'm complaining or anything about the need to do a large amount of drawing every week. I do this because I enjoy it! But if I spent much more time on individual drawings, I probably wouldn't still be at this. I hope that makes sense without making me look like a total slacker.

Someone asked earlier if there was going to anything with Mari... Who do you think the Sixth Child is? Haruihi Suzumiya?
