Some time ago, don't remember if it was on Gainax's site, or in Anno's site @ Gainax Hills, I saw a title of something called "ヱクセリヲン". Also the "ware" & "wo", when normally it should be エクセリオン.

The difference is that the new wedging into katakana includes an affected archaism, by replacing a couple of vowels with forms that have fallen out of use.
That's what makes it like using "Þ" (typically miswritten as "Y") in English. Admittedly, there is an order-of-magnitude difference in how obsolete the glyphs are, but the effect is about as close as can be managed.

That's the Excelion from Gunbuster (and the name was also used in Nadia).
In fact, the add from the newspaper will be displayed in 50 theaters starting the 17. They'll probably be showing the teaser on the same date...

Am I the only one who thinks that just to spite the fans, Anno will have flashing text and images for the trailer and no voices (eg, no Misato the Omnipresent Narrator ala "Jikai") since the films supposedly WON'T do that flashing text/image...thing anymore? :?
