MMM-Kay. This ones been bothering me for a while.

You guys have all probably heard about that whole thing in Boston a week or so ago, right? The "incident" (and I use that term loosely) where Turner Broadcasting/Cartoon Network decided to put a bunch of Aqua Teen lite bright doodle things all over the city. We all know what happened. Now, one would think that the people at fault in this whole matter would be the idiots that caused the panic by not being able to tell the difference between a Light Bright and a bomb, but apparently our society has yet to reach this evoluntionary benchmark. I turn on the news yesterday only to see that the President of Cartoon Network has been forced to resign and has agreed to pay Boston 2 Million Dollars in compensation for the pain they had to endure from having there heads stuck up there butts.

Honestly, does this look like the work of terrorists?

I'm amused that these things didn't cause a stir for two whole weeks in 10 major cities, and then suddenly Boston freaks out.

I just take heart that none of the other 10 cities with Mooninite devices didn't react like this.

What else can we do but laugh? The head of CN has probably saved a lot of other, less weathy people a lot of legal trouble by resigning. It was a pretty responsible thing to do, once it became clear that Boston's leadership wasn't going to admit their mistake.

Personally, I think Turner should support a countersuit by the two guys who were arrested, but we'll see if that happens.

Well, at least this time no other country was bombed in reprise. You can call that an evolutionary step, I think.

We're waiting for an excuse to bomb canada, once we can sort of prove that their prime minister once looked at the moon or something, you know, so we can prove there is a terrorist connection between the Moon and Canada...

My thoughts...

At the beggining of the incident, while humorous, I do believe the Boston police responded in a proper manner.

However, as stated in several news reports the cops knew as recent as 3:37pm on the day in question that the signs were harmlesss, and most likely they knew where all of the signs were. Turner broadcasting had notified the police by then. I was in the tower building as it was closed down at approx. 6:10pm on the 31st for about an hour as police removed the one sign on the building, which the police knew full well by that time was harmless. In my opinion the way the police were used AFTER they signs were shown to be harmless was a waste of time, money, and resources. I also believe that closing down the tower building for an hour or so was a theoretical punishment to MassArt due to one of the members of the GlitchCrew being a MassArt graduate, and I also believe that arresting Peter Berdovsky and Sean Stevens was simply because they needed someone to blame immediately to keep from looking even further like idiots.

Considering I am still holding a grudge against CN for their version of Evangelion during Giant Robts Week I find this whole situation funny. Any time they get spanked it is good.

This kind of shit...only happens in America.
