Everyone loves food, right?
I thought I'd start a thread for those of us who also like taking and looking at pictures of food. Post pictures of delicious meals you've cooked, your favorite restaurant dishes, street food from trips abroad, etc. Anything goes as long as it looks tasty!

I'll start with today's dinner. I cooked up a steak to test out my new grill.
SPOILER: Show
Steak before cooking. Weighed around 650g. Better marbling than what I can usually find in my area (it's hard to get good beef where I live).
Image
I also parboiled some ratte potatoes and tossed with olive oil and some chopped rosemary. Gratuitous tater-closeup:
Image
I like to work with a thermometer to get the doneness right. While the steak was resting, I also grilled the potatoes along with some zucchini and a couple of slices of halloumi cheese.
Image
A perfect medium-rare!

Calling Ornette. With his delicious looking bread, he could rule this thread.

Rhyming not intentional.

Don't have any new bread pictures that I haven't already posted to the pictures thread. Some bean thread soup and noodles: https://plus.google.com/118152408235270 ... FCnEvZVUw4

And maybe this pan pizza in a cast iron skillet and made from sourdough: https://plus.google.com/118152408235270 ... j7uNE64vog

The pizza is actually really convenient, because I have to feed the sourdough starter once a week, and in the process of feeding, you have to throw about half of it away (because it doubles in size over the week). And I found this pizza dough recipe that uses the unfed sourdough starter (most all recipes use the starter after its fed), so I can make pizza once a week and not waste the unfed starter.

Why throw half away, why not just put it into another pan? Double the dough.

EDIT: I'm a retard, didn't read the last sentence.

Soba noodles, chicken stock, an egg, bean sprouts, green onions, cilantro, ginger, some mushrooms that I bought at the market, and this packet of sauce that came with these Nagoya style noodles that my friend there sent me. No idea what's in the packet, but you're supposed to mix it with a small bowl of hot water to use to dip the noodles in. I had already finished all the noodles but had one extra packet of this stuff left.

I love all kinds of noodles in soups. That looks really nice and comforting; I could go for a bowl right now! What kind of mushrooms are those? Beech Shimeji?

Today my brother and I made sausages. We made three different kinds - thick bratwursts, long and thin beef sausages spiced with lots of garlic, paprika and various chilies, and finely ground pork sausages (emulsified with a little milk) with Italian seasoning and chunks of sharp provolone. I only have a picture of the provolone ones (the rest are at my brother's):

I don't have any pics of food, sorry. But what I do have is a extreme desire for some of that sausage.

Now that's what I'm talking about!
Both quiche Lorraine and cauliflower cheese are pretty high on my list of favorite dishes, and that chickpea and sweet potato dish looks very interesting. Good mix of veg and spices. I'll have to try it sometime!
I've never had Simnel cake, but I love marzipan so I'd probably really like it. And dem crumpets
I could also go for some of those flapjacks right now!

I'll have to post some pictures of my mom's home-made pizza the next time we make some. We're Italian, so you know it's gonna be good.

My step mother is 100% pure bred Italian. Has an accent, speaks it, was born in rural Italy, the works. She can cook, let me tell you. Next time I visit her and my dad, I'll take pictures.
